These humid Maine summer days mean daily checks in the orchard for fire blight. Fire blight is a destructive, highly infectious bacterial disease. The disease can spread rapidly, especially in warm, humid conditions, and can lead to significant damage or even death of infected trees.

It’s important we are out checking early and often to clip out any signs of fire blight so we can continue to grow apples for years to come.

We will see you all August 20th for opening day. 🍎🍎🍎

The littlest Sweetser was excited to find a baby apple. He said yummy but sour. Not ready yet. We will see you all for opening day August 20th!

Visit them soon for an amazing selection of apples and ask them for recommendations. They can tell you which are best for pie, which are tart and which are sweet, and they have notes about the apples next to the different varities too πŸ₯°πŸŽ

Our Story

Open for the apple season. The farm market is open 7 days a week, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Sweetser's Apple Barrel and Orchards is a family farm since 1812. This apple farm supports nearly 1,000 apple trees and gardens. We celebrated our 200th anniversary in 2012 marking a huge milestone in family farms. Along with having a selection of apples second to none, and knowledgeable and helpful staff, Sweetser's offers apple cider, apple butter, decorative apples, gourds, ornamental corn, dried beans, and many other fruits and vegetables, when in season
