Crosspoint Veterinary Hospital has been AAHA accredited since 2017 and is privately owned soley by Dr. Christie McHughes Barr. We just had another evaluation and we passed with flying colors!!
AAHA holds us to over 900 standards of care. How we manage medical records, how we manage pain, surgery, anesthesia, housekeeping- you name it and we do it!
Did you know there is no minimum standard enforced for veterinary hospital evaluation in Louisiana.
Did you know only 12% of veterinary hospitals in the USA and Canada are AAHA accredited ?
This separates us from the rest.

He was found on the road in Bogalusa with a gunshot wound and fractured Femur. He was picked up by a good samaritan and taken to MedVet for surgery.

He is estimated around 1 years old and 40lbs. He is very sweet and playful.

Crosspoint is a privately owned small animal veterinary hospital in Covington, LA. We are hiring a skilled associate veterinarian to add to our 2 fulltime/ 2 part time veterinary staff with a support staff of 15. We are a thriving; full service veterinary hospital committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and clients. Team members thrive on a 4 day work week (M-F with one day scheduled off) and every other Saturday (half-day) with no after hour emergencies. Work and homelife balance is a priority at Crosspoint. We work well as a team and offer each veterinarian approximately 2 staff members for assistance. Crosspoint is equipped with Class IV laser therapy, digital xray and digital dental xray, dental machines, Idexx in house blood machines including sedivue urine analyzer and digital cytology, IV and syringe pumps, and an oxygen cage. We have digital f***l diagnostics, sonoscape ultrasound, and a MAI endoscope. We have multiple referral partners within 8-10 miles of the practice. There are about 32,000 veterinary hospitals in the United States. Most are corporate owned now but I still privately own Crosspoint. To be ranked 267 in the top 300 veterinary hospitals NATIONWIDE is an honor. I wanted to offer superb veterinary care to clients and their pets and in 2015, as a sole practitioner, I opened Crosspoint’s doors. This veterinary hospital was a mere thought at one point, but with blood, sweat, tears, time, risks and much prayer, it’s one of the best pet care facilities in the nation. I want to thank my staff for seeing my vision and offering the same unwavering vet care for our patients.
