from Milo the Popper Ingester
Milo is a 6 mn old mischievous little guy- he thought it would be a good idea to eat the poppers “his” children were playing with. Unfortunately he was wrong.
Fireworks, including the tiny little poppers, are toxic to your pets when ingested.
Milo presented with wobbliness and signs of toxicity poisoning. Part of his treatment included taking Toxiban- an activated charcoal and kaolin based liquid. Activated charcoal is used to absorb a wide range of toxins, including those found in fireworks. The kaolin enhances the absorptive properties while also helping protect the intestinal lining. While this mix is extremely helpful, it is messy and tastes, well, like charcoal.
Fast forward 2 weeks- Milo is doing great, and is currently boarding. He and his mom brought the most adorable “Thank you!!” cookies! (Look closely- these are awesome!)
Milo would like to remind every one of the upcoming holiday and fireworks extravaganza- watch your pets to keep them from ingesting any fireworks and/or remnants. He does not recommend having to drink the charcoal because of making poor choices.
