For those of you who have been following our journey or know Sassafrass personally you know what a challenge this has been. She is an amazing little soul and we are hopeful for her future. She is 9 weeks old now and almost 3 lbs!!!
We are seeking a referral for her cleft palate surgery next week. It is likely she will not be able to have the surgery until she is 6 months old or more because she is so small.
Please keep us in your prayers that we will be able to do whatever is best for her. Our family is very attached after 9 weeks of caring for her like an infant and we know how hard rescue is. Sometimes even the wins are hard when you have to let them move on to a new home and it feels like a part of you is missing. I don't know that our family/home is the best fit for her long term no matter how much we love her so please pray that the best outcome presents itself and that we can raise the money for her surgery.
If anyone has ideas about how to do that, please let me know. Someone mentioned starting a TicToc for her and we do have a rescue youtube channel. I am not sure how to rally that for donations towards her surgery though. Any advice is appreciated!

Sirlion is recovering from an upper respiratory infection and a bad bite to his tongue. He has been on quarantine but is enjoying his daily walks, now becoming hikes. He is scheduled for a thorough exam to address some joint pain that may be from a previous injury or may just be due to concrete kennel conditions at the previous shelter. Once we know more and what to expect going forward he will be available for adoption.l!!!
