🚬 Cigarette butts are not biodegradable; the filters contain cellulose acetate, a fibrous plastic. Surprisingly, around 40% end up in waterways, where they release toxic chemicals and shed plastic fibers.

An anonymous donor has stepped forward with a bold challenge: a $2.5 million matching gift to the Central Missouri Humane Society’s “Give Them Love” capital campaign. Every dollar donated between now and July 31st will be doubled, up to $2.5 million, with the goal of raising $5 million in just one month!

This is a huge step to getting a much needed new facility and a safe place for the pets in our community to call home!
