Closing Early!

We would like to take a moment and welcome Dr. Rahyne Keegan to our practice. She has not started with us yet, she starts May 19th, but we wanted to introduce her to our Bijou family.
Dr. Rahyne Keegan is a 2025 graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Keegan developed a deep love for animal husbandry early on through her work caring for and fostering dogs from local shelters. During her adolescence, she also raised and showed bantam chickens in 4-H, kept honeybees, and managed a neighboring hobby farm housing fallow deer. This early exposure to a variety of species sparked her lifelong passion for animal care and stewardship and laid the foundation for her future career in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Keegan discovered her passion for surgery, exotic animal husbandry, and veterinary business management throughout her training, and these areas now serve as her primary professional focus. During her studies, she played an instrumental role in the revitalization of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine’s LGBTQIA+ chapter, and she continues her deep commitment to fostering a more inclusive and diverse veterinary community. To her practice, she also brings her dedication to improving the lives of animals while championing more equitable and accessible approaches to veterinary care.
Along with her husband, Dr. Keegan shares her home with Walter and Marie, their two French Bulldogs, Uk’otoa the axolotl, and two frogs named Glenn and Moe. In her free time, Dr. Keegan strives to balance her professional passions with creative and outdoor pursuits. She enjoys reading, writing, creating art, exploring nature and playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends.

Meet Paw Paw and Peanut. They are in need of an urgent forever home or a foster for 2-4 months while their parents are able to get moved and a place of their own. The cost of living and reduced hours for their dad has made it impossible for them to stay in Colorado and they are moving to Texas and staying with family and friends until they can get jobs and a place of their own. They understand if finding a forever home is best, then they are willing to do that for them. Unfortunately they will not be able to stay another month here so they will be leaving this Friday.
Say Hi to Paw Paw! He used to be on the streets with a homeless camp. His previous owner (I won't call him a dad) left him to fend for himself in the alley behind our building. He took off his collar, kicked him, and yelled at him to go away. His new parents took him in, and he has been with them for 4 months. Paw Paw has a super sweet disposition. He loves to be lazy and is an amazing couch potato! He is 2&1/2 years old, he is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and is fully potty trained. Friendly with other dogs, kids and all people but not great with cats. He is a chill guy that is a huge love bug. His best friend is Peanut.
Meet Peanut! Peanut is almost 7 months old. He is full of life and full of "it". He's young and loves to play. He is an excitable guy but he has his crash out moments as well. He loves to cuddle and play with toys. He currently is in an apartment, so potty training has been a challenge. He does use his potty pads, but is learning that outside isn't just for fun that it's for pottying too! He is neutered and fully vaccinated. He is good with other dogs, kids and people, he is a little high energy for cats because he is so young. His mom and dad got him when he was 4 weeks old and had to bottle feed him. His best friend is Paw Paw.
I am hoping for them to go to a loving home together.
