Yesterday, July 6, was World Zoonoses Day. While the word looks like a cute way to talk about animal proboscises, it's really about diseases that can be transmitted directly to humans from birds and animals and vice versa. Leptospirosis is one of those diseases and rabies is another. Because of vaccinations, we can keep pets AND people from getting sick and dying.
