Nani has the best powdered sugar face 🤍 When we first started seeing her, she was anxious about her visits. Now, she greets us with a wagging tail and leans in for love. Watching her confidence grow has been such a joy. Senior pets like Nani remind us every day why we love what we do, bringing care and comfort right to their homes.

Meet Nat! You may have already had the privilege of chatting with her on the phone in the last two months, but we wanted to formally introduce her. Nat has worked in the vet field since she was 15 years old. She has done everything from working in the kennels, volunteering with rescues in different states, teching, and doing reception work at animal hospitals. She has had a love for animals ever since she found a stray kitty in an alley when she was 5 years old (that her mom did not let her keep by the way). Over the years she has grown a special love and appreciation for all of the misfit and senior pets, which has come with a lot of heartbreak, but she’s willing to work through it for the reward of watching them transform into healthy, happy babies. She currently has four senior fur babies, amongst a few fuzzy misfits, a bearded dragon, chickens, and even some human pets! In her spare time she enjoys cuddling with her gaggle, working on home projects, gardening, paddle boarding, and crocheting. Please help us give her a warm welcome! 🤍🐾

Everybody needs a little help sometimes, and we would love to help out a furry friend in more ways than one. We have this wonderful Lokshun hind leg wheelchair that we would be honored to gift to a dog or rescue that could benefit from it, but might not be quite able to purchase one themselves. ✨ Meet Raven ✨
Raven holds a very special place in our hearts. Recently, a CT scan confirmed that her hemangiosarcoma has progressed to stage three metastasis. 💛 Thankfully, she’s able to start chemo—giving her family the gift of a little more precious time together before they have to say goodbye.

Raven’s family is working on a bucket list to fill her days with joy, and they’d love your ideas. 🐾 Her favorite things? Napping in sunny spots, soaking up the warmth, enjoying tasty treats, and the occasional 5-minute zoomie session.

Do you and your dog love spending the weekend together by the lake? We hear there’s something funky in the water (no, it wasn’t from a potty break). The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is warning pet owners about toxic blue- green algae that has been detected in Colorado waters. They advise that if you or your pet come into contact with the algae, you should rinse off with fresh water immediately and prevent your pet from licking themselves until they have been rinsed off. Symptoms to watch for in your pet are low energy, diarrhea and vomiting, loss of appetite, drooling, tremors, and stumbling. If your pet shows signs of these symptoms, please contact your primary veterinarian promptly. Remember to always follow posted signs and watch out for algae blooms before entering any waters to keep yourself and your sweet fur babies safe this summer.

This weekend, hot dogs will be sizzling, sparklers will be sparkling, and your dogs and cats (who aren’t likely to know US history) will be scared silly. Now is the time to have your 4th of July plans in place for your pets so they can have a safe and calm holiday! In true Colorado Springs fashion, late night fireworks are likely to carry on the whole weekend, so keep your safety protocols in place for a few extra days. 🌭🎆
