Dr. Geist joined the Westside Animal Hospital family in September 2014, and he brings many years of experience in many areas of complicated surgeries, as well as the prevention and long-term management associated with them. These include TPLO (for cranial cruciate ligament injuries), fracture repair, corrective orthopedic surgery, and PRP joint injections! Dr. Geist’s other areas of practice interest include pain management, wound healing, minimally invasive surgery (endoscopy, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, etc.), reconstructive surgery, and major abdominal surgeries.

Last week, Dr. Dye celebrated 20 years at Westside! 🥳 The staff decorated his desk & the treatment area with many photos of his face. And Dr. Dye was very successful with the piñata (clearly).

🐓Im-peck-able work by Dr. Hyatt! 🐓
Sweet Bambi was seen by Dr. Hyatt because she was unable to put weight on her right leg. On exam, Bambi was found having no sensation or muscle function in her left three toes on her right foot. She did, however, have sensation and motor ability to the rest of her leg. The team took some X-rays, and the suspicion is that Bambi lost function in her toes due to trauma, such as an injury from a predator or getting her toes stuck. Dr. Hyatt placed a temporary splint on her foot to support her toes in the proper position, which better allowed her to walk. Bambi adjusted well to the splint and was walking shortly after applying it! With some pain medications, Bambi continued to improve at home and was able to be released back into her coop since she was able to walk and perch without assistance! Way to be egg-ceptional! 🥚

🤎Attention valued clients🤎 On Thursday 7/16/26 from 11:00am – 2:00pm, we will be conducting a scheduled system-wide IT and phone outage in order to upgrade our infrastructure and improve our service reliability.
