Our new software is finally live (well, for the most part ~ thank goodness 🙌), and the timing couldn’t be more critical, because:Romeo — our sweet, silly, zoomie‑powered boy — is about to lose his safe place.
His foster’s situation changed suddenly, and now this young, full‑of‑life sweetheart has nowhere to land. 💔 And if you know Romeo… you know he’s not just “energetic.”He is soft‑hearted chaos wrapped in velvet fur. 🐶✨
He wakes up every morning like the sun personally hired him to spread joy.
He does zoomies with Olympic‑level commitment.
He wiggles so hard his whole body becomes a punctuation mark.
He loves humans with the intensity of a toddler who just discovered hugs. 🤗💛

But beneath all that goofy sparkle?
He is gentle, sweet, and so eager to please.
He wants to be good. He wants to be loved.
He just needs someone who sees the magic in him.

Good afternoon, WRS Fam! ☀️🐾

It’s that mid‑day moment where everyone’s half‑awake, half‑feral, and fully ready for snacks — and then Ginger strolls in with a DNA reveal so ridiculous it made us choke on our Cheez‑Its.

Our “tiny Chihuahua puppy” has officially delivered the kind of Wait… WHAT?! plot twist that only rescue life (and Ginger’s chaos) could provide. 🤣🎉🐶

Today’s star: Ginger — the “Chihuahua” who is…
absolutely, undeniably, scientifically NOT a Chihuahua.
Not even on Saturdays. Not even in her dreams. 🐶❌🌶️
When Ginger’s mama (our legendary Steph Bendush 💛) sent us her DNA results, we didn’t just demand a recount — we demanded a full investigation. Someone call CSI: Canine. 🕵️‍♀️🐾

For anyone who missed Ginger’s dramatic debut:
Rogue rescued her as a tiny, allergy‑covered baby bean 🌱🐕 who was literally about to lose her life. And Rogue — fresh out of treatment, loopy, wobbly, and floating somewhere between Earth and Jupiter 🚀😵‍💫 — said, “Sure, I’ll take the Chihuahua puppy.” Except…

We’re teaming up with White Rose Sanctuary, a local rescue doing the hard, messy, beautiful work of giving animals another shot at life. From medical care to fostering to finding forever homes, they step in for pets that too often get overlooked.

So come grab a pint, meet the humans behind the mission, and learn more about how you can get involved.

As always, from 4-7pm $1 every draft sold during the event goes directly back to the nonprofit.

🐾💛✨ Happy Finally Friday, WRS Fam! ✨💛🐾
It’s time for another episode of “Who’s Your Daddy?” — the show where our pups spill their DNA secrets and we all pretend to be shocked. 😌🐶

Today’s star: Max (formerly Sonny), who came to us as a 6‑week‑old baby nugget with the shortest little legs we’d ever seen. We took one look and said,
“Yep… something tiny is definitely in there.”

And we were right — he’s part Chihuahua. 🧡🐾

But then the DNA results hit us with the plot twist of the century:
Max is also 52% American Pit Bull Terrier.
A Chi and a Pitt…
Together…
Creating this short‑stacked, wiggly, adorable masterpiece.
The mental image alone could win an Emmy. 🏆

No matter what his DNA cocktail says, Max is pure perfection — loved, spoiled, adored, and currently just waiting for his neuter so he can finally be adopted into his forever family. 💛🐶

We just heard the best news ever…

A super kind hooman donated new tough toys and fun enrichment goodies just for us! 🧸🐾💕
Our tails started wagging SO fast. We’re gonna be soooo excited when our fosters show us our new stuff. We can already picture it — happy wiggles, little hops, and big proud “look what I got!” moments. 🐶🎉

These new goodies will help keep us busy, comforted, and feeling good while we wait for our forever homes. That means a whole lot to us. 💛🐾Thank you for thinking of us, sweet hooman.

We can’t wait to play with everything — our tails are already practicing! 😭💕

🤍🐾✨ She’s Here… and Our Sweet Girl Did It Like a Little Pro ✨🐾🤍

Our precious girl Pebbles is officially back in Colorado — safe, loved, and braver than she even knows. 🐶💛

Leaving Washington, DC was one of the hardest moments of her life. Her daddy held her close, whispered his love into her fur, and let her go with a heart that cracked right down the middle. 💔🐾 Pebbles felt every bit of it. There wasn’t a dry eye anywhere. 😢

On Wednesday, she climbed onto the amazing Byrdee Express — and truly, Kelly Byrd is an angel on wheels 🚐✨ — and Pebs rode first class all the way home. She arrived in Colorado in the middle of the night, sleepy and confused, but still that gentle, silly, soft‑eyed girl we adore. 🌙💕

And don’t you worry — her foster family was wide awake, waiting with open arms, soft voices, and warm hearts. 🤗💛 They welcomed her like she was already theirs. She may need a day or two to settle back into Colorado life, but her sweetness shines through every moment. 🌼🐾

🎉 Wishlist Time! 🎉

The pups revamped our list because apparently Rogue has been slacking off. We tried to negotiate and educate them on the difference between wants and needs, but these guys are professionals when it comes to temper tantrums, wrecking-ball antics, and creative manipulation. Gooby is leading the charge with peak toddler behavior to make sure their demands are heard.

After intense negotiations, we agreed to ask for both needs and wants.

🐾 NEEDS (in order of necessity)
• Probiotic powder
• Lick mats & slow-feed bowls — they need more mental stimulation (and less plotting)
• Dental chews
• Large & XL harnesses
• Metal dog bowls
• 36” & 42” dog beds

We’ve added everything to the wishlist and included photos where we found some great deals!

🐾 WANTS (which honestly feel more like demands because we’re pretty sure Gooby will stage a coup if ignored)
• The alligator, corn cob, and fish hard chew toys
• XL Kongs
• Water sprinkler toys — we’re still trying to figure out exactly which kind, but something fun for events that helps the pups cool off. Apparently a spinning, spraying sprinkler thing has become the latest obsession.

As always, thank you for supporting our rescue and spoiling these dogs far more than they deserve currently due to their temper tantrums, JK they deserve all the things just don’t tell them we said so 😝. We appreciate every donation, share, and item sent our way. ❤️🐾

When people say “it takes a village,” they aren’t kidding — and today, our village showed up in the most beautiful way. 💛
Even with no website up yet, Rogue without wheels 🚗💔, Steph buried in her bakery magic 🧁✨, and Cindy in full‑blown coordination panic 😅📱, love still found a way. And because of that, we get to welcome a precious soul: Mama Eden 🐾💕

Eden was rescued by the incredible Team Memphis, who treated her heartworms and gave her a clean bill of health ❤️‍🩹. She was supposed to go into boarding… but with a few desperate, last‑minute calls, everything shifted. By saying “yes” to helping Eden find a home in Colorado, we also saved another sweet boy who was being walked toward that dreaded room 💔🐶.

That moment changed us.
And it opened our eyes to the heartbreaking reality they’re facing:
300 dogs in one week. 😢
Only about 100 will make it out alive.
Most get four days before they’re gone.
No assessments. No presentations. No chance.
Adults die scared. Puppies are euthanized with a needle straight to the heart.

It’s painful to read.
It’s unbearable to know.
And it’s exactly why we fight. 🐾💛

Eden’s arrival is more than a rescue — it’s a spark. A beginning. A chance to build something powerful with Team Memphis and The Pittie and People Connection. She didn’t just save herself. She helped save another life, too. ✨ Eyore is the last photo 🩵🐾

💛 And then came the moment that reminded us what a real village looks like.

A huge, warm, overflowing THANK YOU to Sean Wagers 🙌💛, who didn’t just pick Eden up from transport in Colorado Springs — he lovingly carried her the rest of the way to her waiting family in Loveland 🚗🐾. That quiet act of kindness, that gentle “I’ve got her,” is the kind of love that changes a dog’s whole world.

And our beautiful community didn’t stop there.
Another pup on that same transport, with a different rescue, needed help getting their stunning Pyrenees girl to her new owner in Trinidad 🐕‍🦺🏔️. Without a second thought, one of our amazing fosters, Chizzie Lovell stepped forward and said yes — because helping a pup reach their forever home is simply who he is 💕✨.

This is our village.
This is love in motion.
This is why we keep going. 🫶

And the sweetest part? 🍯💛
One of the incredible families who had offered to help our girl Pebbles have a safe place to land — a family who had already opened their hearts wide — learned that Pebbles was covered. And the moment they heard Eden’s story… her gentle spirit, her love for kiddos, her soft mama heart… they couldn’t say yes fast enough 🥹💗.

They knew instantly that Eden was the family member they had been waiting for 🏡💞.

She is exhausted, but she is safe. She is loved. And for the first time in a long time, she can rest with her whole heart. 😴💗🐾

Welcome home, sweet Mama Eden. Your new life begins now. 🌙✨
