Visual of the Day: Micah 7:7 and a White-tailed Deer Fawn, Fontenelle Forest, Bellevue, Nebraska.
"But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.” Micah 7:7

Micah 7 tells of a time of stress and sin in the nation of Israel. The people had turned from God and were facing His judgement. Micah warned them to watch for the coming armies that would defeat them.

In contrast, Micah said he would not watch for enemy armies, but instead he would watch for God. Rather than focus on enemy armies of a coming war, the prophet looked to God for His salvation.

Today we still need to watch expectantly for God. He works wonders and is working in our lives. In Him we find salvation from all we need to be saved from.

Visual of the day: Isaiah 46:9 and Ancient Rock Formations, Canyonlands National Park, Utah.
“Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me.” Isaiah 46:9

Everything changes and fades away. Even these rocks that seem not to change are slowly eroding away. The sand around them is made of rock dust from rocks long since eroded away.

Even though the hardest and strongest things around us will eventually dissolve away, God remains the same forever. He alone never changes.

The Bible tell us God is good to us. Psalm 102 makes this clear. It contrasts the sinfulness and fallibility of human kind with the greatness and goodness of God. This Psalm also tells us of God’s great mercy towards us despite our depravity and sin.

Our time on earth fades quickly like a shadow. We pass away after just a few short years. God and everything about Him last forever. Rely on Him and Him alone. May He help us make the most of everyday.

How will you use the time God gives us in this withering life?
