College Hills Veterinary Hospital

College Hills Veterinary Hospital Compassionate and caring veterinary services in College Station, offering new puppy packages, surgical care, and more.

College Hills Veterinary Hospital was established in January 1994 and is owned by Dr. Kim Stewart, a 1989 graduate from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lori Smith and Dr. Elizabeth Mahoney joined the practice in 2013. We are a fully equipped veterinary clinic and Veterinary Hospital in College Station, TX. We now have state of the art laser surgery to decrease the ris

k of infection, control intra-operative bleeding and decrease the post surgical discomfort in our patients. Our mission at College Hills is multifaceted. First, we will provide excellent medical and surgical care to our animal patients throughout all stages of their lives by offering health care based on each pet's individual needs. Secondly, we will take the time to educate you, the client, in choosing, training and caring for your pet. We believe that communication is the foundation to a solid doctor-patient-client-relationship. Together we can help you experience the power of the human-animal bond by creating a quality owner-pet relationship that will last a lifetime. Third, we actively support the education of tomorrow's veterinarians via participating in career education presentations in College Station elementary schools and the CSISD Job Shadow Program for the middle school and junior high students; mentoring 4H students pursuing their veterinary assistant accreditation; the work study program for Texas A&M undergraduates and externships for senior veterinary students. Finally, veterinary medicine is more than a career, it is a calling. It is truly a privilege to work in this time honored profession and to be entrusted with the care of your beloved companion. We will preserve and protect the human-animal bond, that very thing that led us here in the first place.

We’ve been thinking about our dog patients a lot lately. That’s because May-September is Itchy Pet Awareness Season (IPAS). Environmental triggers like pollen can make dogs flare up, causing itch and discomfort for them, and sleepless nights and worry for you.

Do any of these signs of allergic itch remind you of your dog?

~Excessive rolling, rubbing, or scooting
~Head shaking or ear discharge
~Unusual behavior like licking, biting, or chewing

Here's how you can help during Itchy Pet Awareness Season

~~Bring your dog in for a visit~~
Keep in mind, while this is a time when allergic itch symptoms flare, the condition can last all year. Scheduling a wellness visit in advance of a flare is a proactive way to help us create an individualized treatment plan to keep your dog comfortable, no matter the season.

To schedule a visit with us, call us at 979-693-0123 or use our online booking link https://collegehillsvet.com/college-station-tx-vet-appointment/ -xc-appointment-type

~~Get to the source of their itch~~
Not sure where to begin? Take the easy-to-use Itch Quiz to answer essential questions about your dog's itching and scratching. Bring your dog's results to their next vet visit to help start the conversation to uncover the cause behind their itch.

You and your pets are an important part of our clinic community!
Let’s work together to keep them protected from allergic itch triggers this season.
