Please help us in welcoming Dr. Megan Erlandson to our team! She will begin her journey with Highway 30 this Monday!

Dr. Erlandson was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. At an early age, she developed an interest in the diversity and capabilities of dogs, as well as a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond. After observing veterinary surgical procedures during her undergraduate studies she decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

While attending Baylor University, Dr. Erlandson served as president of the Pre-Veterinary Association for two years. During this time, she also created a program to provide preventive veterinary care to the campus's feral cat population. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2019 and subsequently graduated from the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2023.

Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery and dentistry. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys running, sailing, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs and one cat.

🐾 One Shot, Full-Year Protection — Meet ProHeart 12! 🐶

Did you know we offer ProHeart 12, the easy, vet-administered injectable that protects your dog from heartworm disease for a full 12 months—all with just one annual visit? It’s administered during your pet’s wellness exam for added peace of mind.

🖤 Why pet parents (and pets!) love it:
* Hassle-free protection — no more monthly meds to remember.
* Dual protection — treats common hookworm infections present at the time of injection.
* Clinically proven — in field studies, ProHeart 12 was 100% effective against heartworm disease in dogs.
* Safe and reliable

🩺 At your pet’s next visit, talk with one of our veterinarians to see if ProHeart 12 is the right choice for you and your dog!

🦠🐈 What is Feline Leukemia Virus?
Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a serious and contagious disease that weakens your cat’s immune system, making them more vulnerable to illness and infections. It's spread through close contact with bodily fluids, which means outdoor or multi-cat households are especially at risk.

🩺 Why It Matters:
FeLV can lead to anemia, cancer, and other life-threatening conditions. Sadly, it’s one of the leading causes of death in cats.

💉 Good News:
There is a vaccine for FeLV, and regular testing can help keep your cats, and others, safe. We recommend all kittens be tested and vaccinated, especially if they go outdoors or live with other cats.

📞 If your cat hasn't been tested or vaccinated for FeLV, give us a call to schedule an appointment. Prevention is key to a long, healthy life for your feline friend. ❤️🐾

After nearly 4 amazing years at Highway 30, Chris will be continuing his career back home. He has been a core part of our team, and while we’re going to miss him more than words can say, we’re so excited for his next chapter as he heads back home to be closer to family. His last day with us will be July 15th. We would love your help in making his last days with us extra special! If you see him around the clinic next week, please take a moment to say thank you, share a memory, or just wish him well on his next journey💙🐾

Thank you, Chris, for your dedication, compassion, and hard work. You’ll always be part of our clinic family🫶🏻
