Join us biweekly starting next Wednesday, June 10 for discussion on the development of a litter of 8 purpose bred puppies slated for service, therapy, facility and/or companion dog futures. Week one will talk about the pregnancy, labor, delivery and first 2 weeks of life as neonates. 45 minute discussion with opportunity for Q&A.

It’s only been 3 full days but already noticing so many changes. Stay tuned for info on a live event with the pups covering first 2 weeks of their lives on June 10th at or around 7:30 pm EST.

Pinto is already taking self care on Day 3 and her 8 pups are thriving. Tomorrow we’ll gather updated weights, with a proper scale, to assess rate of growth in my stats gathering. They drink more efficiently already (and I’m supplementing Pinto’s increased calories food diet and “special drink breaks” with goat milk — she always has access to fresh, clean water — the increased efficiency and their clear ability, despite being blind and deaf, to also use heat seeking and smell ability which make them remarkably able to perambulate into huddles for warmth and zero in on the milk momma when she reappears, regularly and often, while inching into longer breaks away to play and cuddle. So appreciate the opportunity to nurture and oversee this puppy raising while still working, with control on how best to manage it all,online for the most part, and be ever mindful and intentional about balance, strength and flexibility!

Pinto settling with such grace and ease into mothering her day old brood of 8. My job with them is to keep their living space clean, feed Pinto frequent delicious meals with generous servings of goat milk in the meals and on the side, document,document, document, get their weights, readjust the Velcro colorful collars, do laundry and listen to their squeaky little sounds!

Labor kicked in late last night. A couple hours of restless sleep, then off to the whelping box where Pinto delivered EIGHT puppies between 4 am to noon. More details on these pups coming soon. They are purpose bred, third litter of Pinto and Tito, to be raised, nurtured, socialized, trained and loved on to become service, therapy and/or facility dogs. 1/2 standard poodle, 1/4 English Springer Spaniel and 1/4 old English sheepdog.

Nickel so wants his momma Pinto to play. But she’s expecting at least 1/2 dozen pups any day now and she cannot accommodate true aerobic play atm. Appreciate his efforts — he’s going to be such a great big bro soon!

The Shrooms Turned 2 yesterday (I would have posted it on their actual birthday but, well, Pinto and Tito did it again and the Shroom 10 are about to be big bros and sisters and life is a bit crazy atm. More on that soon.) For now, the focus is on this exceptional litter of pups, now officially adults!

Here they are, in birth order:
Puffin, Scarlett, Koa, Enoki, Oyster, Beech, Clover, Farley, Truffle and Reishi! All loved, perfectly placed, living their best lives. Congrats to mom Pinto and dad Tito and hold on, we're expecting the threepeat of these by the end of May.

Zara and Nadia are adjusting and are still very early into transition as a service dog in training (SDIT) team. This first visit back was fun for all. And it wasn’t arctic air anymore!! Win win!
