I need to check my Frequent Flier Miles to the vet. Another trip to the vet for me. This time for an abscess on my paw. Mom asked for it to be cultured since it’s never an easy one round of antibiotics and done for me. So, we will wait for that result. In the meantime, I did get started on an antibiotic but we can change it once we get results if needed.
I was a good girl and was super well behaved. As always, I got the plenty of treats. 💜❤️‍🩹🐾

It’s hot outside! 🥵
Although it’s sunny out, it’s too hot to be outside for long. Heat is a potential trigger for my seizures. We believe it’s because I experience stress when I am too hot.
Mom keeps me cool during these hot and humid days with air conditioning, fans, cooling blankets and ensures I always have fresh, cool water to drink. Can you tell it works to keep me comfortable? 😏

Time for Ellie’s update. I think it’s important to share that Mom got a strange video of Ellie waking up from a dead sleep and immediately acting like something or someone is threatening her. We shared this with the behaviorist and they said she needs to be evaluated by a vet ASAP. So Mom shared this with the vet and he was baffled by it. Is it seizure activity? We don’t know.
It’s possible Ellie has pain although it’s hard to tell with her because she is reactive to everything. So to be on the safe side, she is starting a trial of pain medication. The easiest fix would be pain. We can manage that. If the medication doesn’t seem to help her, we will move forward with scans of her brain to make sure she has no abnormalities.

We will do our vet updates separately because there is a lot to unpack. It was one of those difficult visits that we hat...

We will do our vet updates separately because there is a lot to unpack. It was one of those difficult visits that we hate to have.
I’ve been having hind end weakness, which given my history can be a lot of things. The vet is running bloodwork but she suspects the IVDD is progressing and I am losing feeling in my legs. It was an important discussion about my prognosis with lots of emotions. I am so loved but Mom shared with the vet that we will not be pursuing spinal surgery for me.
Mom will be contacting the neurologist tomorrow to see if they can start me on steroids for my IVDD on a more permanent basis. Just to help slow the progression while keeping me comfortable and happy for the time being.
Also, it’s been pretty obvious that I am struggling to hear. My ears look great so the vet suspects it’s just part of getting older.

Wowza! Mom has her hands full tomorrow. Ellie and I have vet appointments! Ellie is first and being evaluated for pain and/or seizures per the recommendation of her behaviorist due to some strange things we are seeing in her.

I hope you all are doing well and had a safe holiday! Mom had surgery a week ago and has been on the mend. Ellie and I have been on our best behavior for her. She has a few more weeks of recovery so we will post when we can. Lots of love! 💜
