Sophie is 100% complete again!

“Sophie is a 9 ½ year-old mixed breed (53 lbs.) canine. She LOVED to catch Frisbees. She went up, caught her Frisbee and came down lame. I thought she had just re-injured her knee and was giving it “time.” After 2 weeks of no improvement, our regular vet gave a look-see. She said, “Torn CCL.” My heart sank. She suggested we consult with Dr. Malnati, which we did.

“Fast-forward to Sophie’s surgery date. Filled with anxiety (me AND Sophie), we walked into the office and my heart broke as I left my girl. The morning dragged on. Later that morning I got the call saying that Sophie did great during the surgery and that I could come get her around 4pm. About 2 hours later the phone rang again – caller ID is great – my heart started racing—Oh my God, why are they calling me back? I was informed that Sophie told them she was ready to go home! WHEW! – I raced up and got my girl.

“That night I got no sleep worrying about her pain; YES, she was in pain, but the pain meds helped. The next day I was scared when they removed the compression bandage, but it all looked great! Our follow-up appointments went smoothly. I followed the after-care directions to a “T” and voila – Sophie is 100% complete again.

“I cannot say thank you enough to Dr. Malnati and his expertise and caring, and compassionate staff. I am so grateful they are close to me, but I would have travelled hours if necessary. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts (and our knee) for what you do.”

Our German Shepherd Kicsila'n had a torn ACL…

“Our German Shepherd Kicsila'n had a torn ACL. She ruptured the cranial cruciate ligament in her knee and tore her meniscus (cartilage). The damaged portion was removed. The front part of the shin bone was moved forward to change the force of the knee. The bone now is held in place with a bone plate. Dr. Malnati is so intelligent about everything! You ask him any Vet related question, he knows the answer or who to see. The staff there are knowledgeable and compassionate.

"We had called another Veterinary Surgery practice, and no one there knew anything, they had me call one of their other offices and gave me a run around, so make sure your Vet and surgery center has a good reputation and everybody that works there is on the same page! You and your pet will be safer and have a good outcome.

"Dr. Malnati was wonderful with us and our special Kicsila'n. He was informative and instructed us from his College Veterinary academic textbook what happened and what his surgery would do to help. He was very careful with Kicsila'n and kept a very close watch on her post op recovery.

"All meds post op are documented well for administration at home, activity is laid out well – what the pet can & cannot do. All your pet’s information, if you want, is printed out for you. We had no infection issues. I would definitely recommend Dr. Malnati and would not hesitate to seek a consultation with him again if need be!”
