It’s officially the first day of summer—and it’s coming in hot! 🌡️☀️ Summer heat can be tough on pets, and heat emergencies happen more often than you think. If your pet shows signs of overheating or heatstroke, don’t wait—bring them to VEG. No judgment, just care. 🫶

Know the signs of heatstroke:
☀️ Excessive panting or drooling
☀️ Vomiting or diarrhea
☀️ Lethargy or weakness
☀️ Collapse

If your pet is in distress, VEG is open 24/7 with immediate emergency vet care.

🎓 Big congrats to our 2025 VEG Scholarship recipients: Dr. Jessika Jaime, recent DVM grad from The Ohio State, and fourth-year student Christopher Ellington from Colorado State University!

Jessika is kicking off her career at VEG Miami, and Christopher is planning on completing the NERD program in Colorado after he wraps up his final year. We’re proud to support the next generation of ER veterinarians and help ease the burden of student debt along the way. 💛

The VEG Scholarship covers a full year of tuition plus a job offer after completing our New ER Doctor Program—because at VEG ER for Pets, we believe in investing in the future of veterinary emergency medicine.

Dad, it’s your day but your pet has other plans. Nothing says Happy Father’s Day like a trip to the emergency vet, amirite? We know BBQs can lead to your pet eating something they shouldn’t 🌽🍖. An injured paw can happen during hikes. 🐾 And sometimes, your furry bestie just seems off, even though you planned an amazing day.

At VEG, we always prioritize the safety of our customers, their pets, and our VEGgie hospital staff. In this effort, due to Hurricane Milton and the affected evacuation zones, our VEG Clearwater, VEG Tampa, and VEG South Tampa locations will be temporarily closed. We will notify you as soon as we’re able to reopen our hospitals. If you believe your pet is experiencing an emergency, please call our sister hospitals below to speak with an ER vet.
