Since we first opened our doors in 2014, staff has devoured an astonishing number of king cakes—each one a symbol of luck and tradition. All because our amazing Veterinarian, Dr. Love, is a Louisiana native. King cake is a long tradition that she has shared with her staff!
The challenge is simple: estimate the number of babies nestled in this bottle. The number you guess will be a testament to the sheer volume of king cakes we've collectively enjoyed over the years!

⭐ BENTLEY: THE MODERN DOG OF MEDICINE
How science, devotion, and one extraordinary dog rewrote the rules of survival

Bentley is ten years old, which in dog years means he has already lived a full novel.

He has chased enough squirrels to earn tenure, slept through enough afternoons to master the art of peace, and loved his people with a loyalty so consistent it never once asked for credit.

But now, Bentley lives on modern medicine.

Not because he’s weak.

Because he’s strong enough to stay.

Every morning begins with water—not from a bowl, but carefully measured hydration, delivered slowly, patiently, like a promise: We’re not done yet.

There are pills too.

Small ones. Big ones.

Some for blood pressure, because his heart works hard and needs help.
Some to bind what his kidneys can no longer manage alone.

Some to replace what his body no longer makes enough of—iron, the quiet building block of breath.

Three times a week, there are injections.

They don’t hurt much, but they matter enormously.

They tell his bone marrow, Try again.

Try to make red blood cells.

Try to carry oxygen.

Try to give him energy for one more walk, one more tail wag, one more day lying in the sun like he owns it.

Sometimes the numbers barely move.

And that’s hard.

Hard in a way lab results don’t capture.

But Bentley doesn’t read lab reports.

He reads tone of voice.

Hands on fur.

The way his people show up—again and again—refusing to let him face this alone.

He is alive because of a village:

veterinarians

syringes

supplements

careful doses

late-night worry

and a human who decided that love means doing the work

Bentley is not being kept alive by machines.

He is being kept alive by intention.

By science refined enough to be gentle.

By medicine advanced enough to be personal.

By the belief that time—real, meaningful time—is worth fighting for.

He may not know the names of the medications.

But he knows this:

Someone loves him.
