The internet can be a wonderful thing. A random google search and going down a rabbit hole led to us finding one of the only pictures of North Rock we’ve been able to find before the couple we have posted that were given to us by his last owner.

“North Rock” a 1969 Dark Bay OTTB Stallion by Northern Dancer (Neartic) out of Hawkstone (Repace)

North Rock is the sire of our late stallion Small Change and seven of our late OTTB Polo Ponies. He’s the grandsire of all our homebreds.

We see him in all of his progeny. We owe a lot to this great stallion. He sired many outstanding Racehorses and Polo Ponies. He was quite the Racehorse himself winning well over $200k.

We owe a lot to Ralph and Dani d’ Arge. Our program is based off their great stallion and his progeny. We couldn’t be more thankful for what this stallion gave us.

They don’t get much more typey than “The Cisco Kidd”.

Cisco is our 2020 Bay AQHA Appendix Stallion by our late stallion Small Change (North Rock) out of Devons Flying Pie (Devons Signature)

Cisco is everything we look for in a stallion/rope horse/ Polo pony. Quiet, respectful and handsome. He’s had a couple weeks off and went right back to work.

Last week was a rough one, thankfully because of our great Vets things are looking up!

Our youngest foal, “CH Split The Check” aka Dutch had a freak pasture accident which resulted in a pretty nasty bone chip at the top of his shoulder. Thankfully, the chip was able to be removed and after a long recovery, Dutch has a pretty good prognosis.

We cannot thank Dr. Stacey Tarr with Northern Colorado Equine and the team Alpine Animal Hospital for all their help with Dutch! We are very thankful to have the Vets we do!

Dutch is pretty sore but it hasn’t stopped him from being his normal self. This little guy is TOUGH!

We’d really appreciate some good vibes sent his way!

You ask any breeder, breeding season never truly ends.
Just when we get done foaling and breeding we’re already planning next breeding season.

We have several stallion options picked out for this mare but we would love some suggestions!

“Crown H Zinger” a 2011 Bay TB mare By Small Change (North Rock) out of Sassy Suzie Q (Meadow Prayer).

Zinger was one of our best all arounds before injury forced early retirement. She’s our first homebred Polo pony from our program and she means a lot to us. She had a phenomenal 2022 filly by Dolfina Legendario (Aiken Cura E01). We absolutely loved how she crossed on those lines.

She is everything we want in a Polo pony, handy, fast and SMART. There isn’t much we’d change about her.

If she was yours, what Polo stallion would you breed her too?

“Crown H Roja” a 2023 Chestnut Thoroughbred Filly by Dolfina Legendario (Aiken Cura E01) out of Crown H Zinger (Small Change)

This filly is going to be so fun to play. She’s a 100% Polo bred. Shes been started and is wicked smart and easy.

She’s getting the winter to grow and will be put back to work this spring!

We adore our La Dolfina/ Crown H crosses!

Crown H butts drive us nuts!

Especially on a set of full siblings!

Pictured is our 2020 Bay AQHA Appendix Stallion “The Cisco Kidd” aka Cisco and our 2022 Grey AQHA Appendix mare “JMH Whippoorwill” aka Feathers.

Both are by our late stallion, Small Change (North Rock) and out of Devons Flying Pie (Devons Signature).

We adore our Change X Rita babies, they both have been retained to be added back into the breeding program later. They are a unique mix of Polo bred TB on old school Running bred QH.

Their sire was a grandson of Northern Dancer and their dams dam was a full sister to Straw Fly Specials dam.
East Jet, The Signature, Storm Cat, Pie In The Sky, Rising Market and more all with in five generations. Northern Dancer and Pie In The Sky are on the face of both their papers.

Feathers took after her dam and Cisco took after his sire, Feathers is Changes only Grey and only AQHA Appendix filly. Cisco is Changes only AQHA Appendix Stallion. We like to think they are limited editions.

We do have a yearling half sister available!
