😱🐾 “Oh no… my dog just ate [insert mystery gross thing]!”

Sound familiar? Here’s your vet-approved game plan:

1️. Call us Poison Control or your Emergency Vet immediately- time is everything when toxins are involved.
2️. Know what they ate: Packaging, plant name, or leftover chocolate stash. Those details help us act fast.
3️. Don’t DIY it: No inducing vomiting unless a vet says so. Some toxins are trickier than a cat in a bathtub.
4️. Stay calm & safe: Keep your pet contained and comfy while help is on the way.

May 8th, National Animal Disaster Preparedness Day 🌪️🐾

Disasters happen, but your pet doesn’t have to panic! Here’s how to be ready:

✅ Emergency kit: food, water, meds, leash, carrier, and favorite snuggle toy
✅ ID + microchip = reunion guaranteed
✅ Plan your escape: shelters, hotels, and buddy system
✅ Practice drills. Calm pets = happy pets

Prep now, stay paw-sitive later! 🐶🐱

Here’s how to help your pets adjust like the good boy/girl they are:
👶 Start early: Gradually introduce new sounds, scents, and routines. (Baby cries from YouTube are fair game!)
🏠 Keep their space sacred: Make sure they still have a cozy, calm zone to retreat to when life gets hectic.
💞 Reinforce the love: Don’t forget those cuddles and praise. A little reassurance goes a long way.
🐶 Practice makes perfect: Try short “training” sessions around baby gear or new routines so nothing feels brand new on day one.

Remember, change can be ruff! But with patience and prep, your pet will adjust beautifully. 💕

If your dog barks or howls the moment you leave, it’s usually not drama—it’s separation stress (with a little flair). 🎤🐶

What can help:
• Practice short departures and slowly build up time away
• Leave calming background noise likeTV, music, or white noise
• Keep exits low-key (no big goodbyes… sorry 😅)

Big changes like trips, boarding, or grooming visits can make it more noticeable, especially around busy seasons like spring break. If the barking seems intense, sudden, or paired with destructive behavior, let us know. We’re happy to help you and your pet feel more comfortable when it’s time to say “see you later.” 💚🐾

Today is Hairball Awareness day! And we’re sure you’re aware everytime you hear that “hurk hurk hurk” down the hall. Here’s when it is a problem:
🚫 Loss of appetite
💩 Diarrhea
🥴 Lethargy
💧 Or dehydration

Please call us! Chronic vomiting can point to allergies, parasites, or even more serious tummy troubles.

💡 Vet tip: Try brushing your cat more often, feeding smaller meals, and making sure they’re on a high-quality diet = fewer surprise carpet “presents.” 🎁

Hairballs happen, but frequent vomiting is not normal. Let’s keep those tummies happy!

You dream of sandy beaches and your pet dreams of not being left behind. 🏖️

Here’s how to keep tails wagging on the go:

🐶 Buckle up, buttercup. Use a secure carrier or seat belt harness. No “free roaming copilots,” no matter how cute those puppy eyes. 👀

🐾 Comfort is key. Bring familiar things like their blanket, a toy, or your shirt (bonus points if it smells like you).

💧 Pit stops matter. Plan breaks for stretching, potty time, and water.

🧾 Check your paperwork. Airlines, hotels, and even state lines may require vaccine records or health certificates. Have questions about any of it? We’re here to help!

Spring Break is on the way, which may mean a “spa day” or “sleepover” for your fur-babies! Most grooming and boarding facilities will ask for proof of certain vaccines.

Here’s the usual checklist:

🐕 Dogs: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHPP), and Bordetella (that’s kennel cough). Many spots also require Canine Influenza.

🐈 Cats: Rabies and FVRCP (feline distemper).

Fleas and ticks: tiny creatures, BIG problems. Prevention depends on your pet’s lifestyle, age, and any health considerations, because no two pets are exactly alike. Here are a few options to help your pets:
For Dogs 🐶
💊 Oral meds: Easy to give, highly effective, and usually monthly.
🛡️ Collars: Long-lasting, convenient, and perfect for pets who forget their meds (or for those sneaky escape artists).
For Cats 🐱
💧 Topical treatments: Applied to the skin, these work like a shield against parasites.
Pro tip: Even if your pet is an indoor superstar, some ticks and fleas sneak in anyway. Prevention is always better than cure. A vet visit for a flea infestation is never as fun as it sounds. 😬 Only use veterinary approved products. Ask us which product is the safest for your pets lifestyle, age and overall health.

We wish there were a one-size-fits-all scoop, but every pet is a little different. Here’s the short version:
🐶 Dogs: Amounts depend on size, age, activity level, and metabolism. A couch potato pug eats a lot less than a hiking lab!
🐱 Cats: They’re smaller, but those extra nibbles add up fast. Indoor cats especially need portion control to avoid sneaky weight gain.
💡 Tip: Always check your pet food’s feeding guide, then adjust with your vet’s help based on your pet’s body condition and activity level. You should be able to feel ribs but not see them.

Next time your furry friend gives you those “I’m starving!” eyes… remember, they’re professional actors. 🎭 Keep the portions right and the treats measured.
