I see the same dangerous heat advice often. A lot of it sounds logical
 until you understand how dogs actually regulate temperature.

The biggest myths I still see:

❌ Covering dogs with wet towels
❌ Withholding water from panting dogs
❌ Dumping ice-cold water on them

All of these can make overheating worse.

If your dog is hot, your goal is simple:
âžĄïž Gradual cooling + airflow + controlled hydration

And if something feels off, don’t wait, heatstroke progresses quickly and can rapidly turn fatal.

Save this so you have it when you need it, and share it with the other dog lovers you know. It might just save a life!

Google is a tool, not a substitute for training, clinical experience, or knowing how to evaluate sources.

This is exactly how misinformation spreads in veterinary medicine: a confident answer, pulled from low-quality references, repeated as fact.

Yes, a dog’s stomach can be very acidic at times.
But pH is dynamic, not fixed, and that nuance matters when you’re talking about whether pathogens like Salmonella or E. coli can actually be neutralized.

Spoiler: they often aren’t.

If you’re not looking at peer-reviewed research, study design, and context
 you’re not actually “doing your own research”, you’re just reading, and those are not the same thing.

Ask questions. Stay curious.
But don’t mistake Google for a veterinarian.
