Meet Erica, our LVT who joins the New Castle vet team on Fridays. Erica has been a technician for 16 years, working in a handful of local veterinary clinics as well as taking care of service dogs in her last position at Guiding Eyes for the Blind. When she is not at New Castle vet helping us care for your pets she is at school where she teaches the next generation of animal lovers the ins and outs of Vet Teching. Erica loves all animals and is equally happy out on the trails with her pups or snuggling on the sofa with her cats and family. She is a certified Reiki Master teacher and brings an air of calm with her wherever she goes. Erica has the biggest heart, and we are very lucky to have her here with us at New Castle Vet. Stop by on Friday and say hi!

Meet Bobbie our CSR, who is most often found at the front desk helping clients with appointments, billing and advice. Bobbie has been a CSR and veterinary technician for 40 years and was one of the first technicians to work at New Castle vet when it first opened 32 years ago. Bobbie has the magical mixture of great knowledge with a wonderful friendly attitude, and she is always happy to help you understand what’s going on with your pet. Bobbie has a soft spot for all animals and has spent much of her time working at local shelters and fostering animals in need. If you call the clinic, Bobbie is most likely the first person you will talk to, so give her a call and wish her happy vet tech week!

Meet Stephanie, our head
technician, and long-time member of the New Castle
Vet team. Stephanie has many years’ experience
working with the pets of Chappaqua and is a familiar
face to many of our loyal clients. Stephanie plays an
important role in the hospital, not only helping Dr.
Emott with dentals and surgical procedures, but also
taking new techs under her wing, teaching them how to
take blood, monitor anesthesia, take x-rays, give
vaccines, and generally keep patients happy and calm
while getting the job done. In her spare time Stephanie
has spent many hours helping rescue animals find
their way out of the shelter, and can often be found
hiking with her pups, or fishing and sunning herself on
the ocean.

Meet Liz our veterinary assistant who is training to become a technician. Liz is here 2 days a week and has been working at New Castle vet for 6 years. Over this time Liz has developed her skills and is extremely good at holding animals for exams, keeping them calm and safe. Liz knows all our patients very well, ensuring they have as calm and stress-free a visit as possible. Liz is a very organized person and can often be found helping the vet team by checking meds and organizing supplies, so that in moments of emergency everything is exactly where it should be. While Liz loves all animals she has a special soft spot for reptiles. Without Liz New Castle vet would not be the same, and we appreciate the calm she exudes.

Why do we take rabies vaccination so seriously? Because rabies can affect both pets and people, and once symptoms develop, the disease is nearly always fatal. The good news is that we can help prevent it with a vaccine. If you’re not sure if your pet is up to date, then give us a call and we can help you determine when they’re due.
