Who wins this Battle???

This video is certainly silly, but it illustrates beautifully a puppy working on a super important skill:

PROBLEM SOLVING

👉Here are 3 quick ways to build better problem solving into your nosework training:

1️⃣ Let puppies struggle a LITTLE BIT before stepping into to tell them the answer. Low stakes stress helps to build resilience.

2️⃣ Use barriers, unstable surfaces, obstacles and tight spaces around the house for your nosework searches to build confidence.

3️⃣ Keep searches challenging enough to encourage thinking, BUT don’t just play to their weaknesses. Always keep it fun and include searches that you know they enjoy. This helps to keep frustration to a minimum.

This puppy was VERY committed to going through the mesh instead of around it… but this is exactly why we love nosework for puppy enrichment and puppy training.

Dogs learn resilience, confidence, and how to work through frustration without us constantly stepping in.

Dog training is full of nuance.

AI can give general advice.

But it can’t read body language
It can’t adjust for emotion
It has no idea about timing
It can’t observe the environment
What about genetics or stress?

That’s where real coaching matters.

Every dog is different.

And sometimes what people need most isn’t more information — it’s guidance, support, and someone to help them apply it in real life.

Whether you’re looking for group classes, day training, or private training, we’d love to help you and your dog navigate it together.

One of the best recall games?

Letting your dog chase YOU.

A lot of dogs think being chased is the greatest game ever invented… which is why running after a loose dog often backfires.

Practicing “chase me” games builds engagement, makes coming to you more exciting, and teaches your dog that staying connected is FUN.

BONUS: it also burns energy, so is a great game before a walk!

Congratulations, you are now enrichment 🤪
