Save the Date!

Together with our friends we will be hosting the next “Dogs & Storks” in-person seminar.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 27 at 1pm in our All Dogs Allowed Training Center.

“Dogs & Storks® is an essential program for new and expecting families with dogs. In this presentation, you will learn how to best prepare with your family dog for your baby’s homecoming.

Situations that put young children at risk and cause family dogs to lose their homes can occur even with the best intentions, but these common problems can be preventable with a good plan from the start.

It’s common to have questions and concerns.

Should we bring home the blanket?
Will my dog be jealous of the baby?
Do we have to change where our dog sleeps?
How do we introduce our dog and baby? What can we do to prepare?

These questions and more will be covered as we discuss how best to facilitate a smooth homecoming for your whole family.

In addition, attendees will become familiar with their dog’s subtle communication signals, consider their dog’s learning history and sensitivities, and walk away with tips to get started immediately as they work to set up their homes for success.

This course is designed for:

expectant families
families who are adopting a baby
and anyone who has dogs and cares for infants up to three months of age.

The class is for people only, dogs will stay at home 🐶

Family Paws has been the trusted resource for supporting families with dogs since 2002.

Congrats to our first Student Highlight of 2025, Sunshine ☀️!

Here’s what his humans have to say about his story:

“After many months of begging, we told the kids we would do a weekend “sleepover” with a local rescue organization to see whether they were really ready for a dog. If they were, we would look for a small, adult dog to adopt. Of course, everyone fell in love with the not-small, not-adult dog who came for a sleepover, and we adopted Sunshine, who is now a very energetic 1.5-year-old, 70 pound American foxhound/pitbull/husky mix.

He has been a sweet, curious, and playful dog since we adopted him, but we struggled a lot with regulating his arousal levels — he had no off switch, serious FOMO, and no impulse control.

If he wasn’t swallowing stuffed animals and socks, he was trying to play with our five year old and knocking him over in the process.

We got him into classes at All Dogs Allowed within a few weeks of adopting him and worked to use what we were learning with him at home. It has been a slow process, but after a little more than a year of work, he can lay down and sleep next to the kids on the couch, go on a walk that is calm and pleasant for all parties, return items he shouldn’t have without guarding them, and even focus enough to run an agility course.

None of these were skills he would have had without ongoing work with All Dogs Allowed trainers, and we are so thankful for all of the help in teaching him how to relax and be comfortable in his new home, and in his own body!”

We couldn’t be more thrilled at the HUGE progress this family has made ❤️

Class Info:

– This class is for any dog one year of age or older, who has taken previous foundational training courses. If you have taken training classes from another trainer in the past, please email – [email protected] – to see if you can jump right into Therapy Dog Class.

– Dog must have been in the home for at least 6 months

– Since spots go quickly, we require both pre-registration and non-refundable pre-payment to reserve a spot. This helps you (and other interested owners) know exactly which sessions are still available.

– This class meets weekly, at the designated time, for six consecutive weeks. Weekly attendance is required, although we do offer make up options if an unavoidable conflict arises during the class.

– We like to keep our class size small – so we limited it to six so that each team gets individual teacher attention and assistance.

– We’re sorry, but this class does not cover behavior challenges such as severe on-leash reactivity (barking, growling, and/or lunging at others while on leash), excessive barking, separation anxiety, confinement distress, extreme fearfulness of people or dogs, or aggression as these cannot be covered in a group class setting. If you are experiencing this behavior, please check out our private training options. This way, we can tailor a training program to tackle your dog’s individual needs.
