❤️ Some dogs are lucky enough to have owners who refuse to give up on them. Arlo and Alfie are two of those dogs. 🐾

These two boys have some pretty incredible humans in their corner, and I want to take a moment to recognize them.

Despite trying previous trainers, online training courses, and putting in countless hours of effort without seeing the results they hoped for, their owners never gave up.

They never gave up hope that Arlo and Alfie could one day enjoy peaceful walks without constantly reacting to the world around them. They never gave up hope that Alfie could become a more confident dog, capable of navigating new environments without feeling overwhelmed or afraid.

And most importantly, they never stopped believing their dogs were capable of more.

When you're struggling with behavioral challenges, it's incredibly easy to feel defeated. The frustration, stress, embarrassment, and disappointment can take a toll. Especially when you're doing everything you think you're supposed to do, and nothing seems to be working.

But here's something I wish more dog owners understood:

Just because something hasn't worked yet doesn't mean your dog is incapable of change.

Sometimes it takes a different approach, a better understanding of what's driving the behavior, and a willingness to keep learning and adapting.

Today, Arlo and Alfie are making incredible progress toward becoming calmer, more confident dogs. And while I'm proud of the work we've accomplished together, I'm even more proud of the people who made that progress possible.

To Arlo and Alfie's owners: Congratulations.
Not just for how far your dogs have come, but for your patience, dedication, and determination to give them a better quality of life.

You didn't give up when things got difficult. You kept advocating for your dogs, even when the answers weren't easy to find.

Your dogs are incredibly lucky to have you.

And to anyone reading this who is struggling with a reactive, fearful, or overwhelmed dog: Don't lose hope. Progress is possible, and you don't have to figure it all out alone.

🐾 WE ARE OFFICIALLY FULLY BOOKED! 🐾

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! 💜

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming love, trust, and support we've received from our amazing clients and the many families who have reached out to Canine Training Co. for help with their dogs.

As a small business, it means the world to us that so many people trust us with their beloved companions. Every dog we work with, every success story, and every family who puts their confidence in us is a reminder of why we love what we do.

With that being said, we have officially reached maximum capacity for our Board & Train programs and will not be accepting any additional Board & Train dogs until March 2027.

We sincerely apologize to those who are currently looking for training assistance and may have to wait longer than expected. We understand how frustrating and overwhelming behavior challenges can be, and we never want anyone to feel like help is out of reach.

However, one thing we will never compromise on is the quality of training, individualized attention, and level of care that every dog in our program deserves. We believe in doing things right, not simply taking on more dogs than we can responsibly accommodate.

After the new year, we will be exploring opportunities to expand our team by bringing on additional qualified trainers who share our commitment to compassionate, effective, results-driven dog training. Our goal is to help more families throughout Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Morrisville, and the greater Triangle without sacrificing the quality and personal attention that Canine Training Co. is known for.

To our past, present, and future clients: THANK YOU for helping our small business grow into something we're incredibly proud of.

Your referrals, reviews, recommendations, and continued support mean more than you know. We truly couldn't do this without you!

Here's to more happy dogs, confident owners, and exciting things ahead in 2027! 🐶💜

With gratitude,
Canine Training Co. 🐾

Board & Train student Zo!

Zo is with the Canine Training Co. because she struggles with dog reactivity and listening to commands.

Her owner reached out to us after Zo got off leash and chased down a neighbor and their dog.

Students Arlo and Alfie have been with the Canine Training Co. for a few weeks of behavior rehabilitation training.

Their owners put in a lot of time and effort to try and address the issue. But they just couldn't get Arlo and Alfie past their leash reactivity on their own.

There's still work to be done once Arlo and Alfie return home. But the Canine Training Co. will be there to help guide everyone to peaceful, enjoyable walks.

If I ever have a chance to speak with an owner 1 on 1 about how to tell the difference between an ethical breeder and a breeder for-profit, I do.

I try not to post things other then training on my page. But I had to post this because it is about a puppy mill disguised as an ethical breeder here in North Carolina.

It doesn't matter how nice the website looks or what they say on the website. What matters is the quality of life that their breeding dogs have. And the quality of dog that they're breeding.

ETHICAL BREEDERS:
📌 Will only have a few litters a year.

📌 Usually have a wait list for their puppies.

📌Usually breed a female dog one a year. Or once every other year.

📌Usually have a low number of breeding females.

📌Their dogs are on property and available to meet. Both male and female breeding dogs.

📌Health test all of their breeding dogs. Test for hips, eyes, allergies, heart health, seizures etc.

📌Actually do things with their dogs (competitive obedience, hunting, agility, confirmation, etc.) Giving the dog a good life and treating it like family. Not letting it rot in a kennel until its next heat cycle.

📌They will never breed for "rare" colors that cause health issues or deafness. "Teacup" sizes" which cause health issues. Mix a few different breeds together, make up a name, and tell you that it's a new breed that's an amazing family pet.

📌They will always take back one of their puppies at any age. No questions asked. If an owner cant keep the dog.

If you've purchased a dog and none of theses things were considered. It's okay. You don't know what you don't know. This isn't to shame anyone. This is to try and educate owners so they can make a more informed decision the next time.

Student Mango 🥭

Mango is a great example that you can teach an old dog new tricks. She went from an only dog home to living with two other dogs and is struggling to understand eveyone and everything isn't hers. A little bit of Diva attitude, lol. She's with us to brush up on basic obedience and help with learning she doesn't get to be a bully.

Meet Teddy!

Teddy's owners struggled with extreme pulling on the leash. So much so that they avoided walking him. This is his first lesson.

I wanted to highlight the fact that training tools are a great option when applied correctly. Prong collars get a bad rep because they look scary and people use them without understanding how they work.

This is Teddys first experience with a prong collar. No fallout, no fear.

✨️All training should first and foremost be about positive reinforcement.

✨️Only quality prong collars with professional guidance should be utilized. (herm sprenger is our brand of choice)

✨️Understanding how to apply pressure and functionality of the collar is imperative if you want to avoid confusion or behavioral fallout.

✨️Teaching fundamentals and verbal cues needs to happen before ever expecting your dog to be successful with better behavior.
