S.N.A.R.R Animal Rescue Northeast GIVING HOPE TO THE HOPELESS SNARR Northeast was started in 2011 and is run by Courtney Bellew. We rely solely on donations as a 501c3 non-profit.

We are based out of New York but geography does not stop us when it comes to rescuing! SNARR saves the toughest dogs to place; those with serious medical conditions, deaf and blind dogs, severely emaciated dogs, the animals that nobody else wants; the dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. We also save perfectly healthy animals as well...there are countless lives and innocent beings who need our

help. Courtney Bellew, of Westchester County, NY visited the Manhattan Animal Care & Control Shelter and came across a special dog named Frankie, a deaf Pit Bull. There was just something about him, the look in his eyes, his calm nature…something that made her say: "I need to help THIS dog!” With a full house of her own dogs, Courtney began posting on Facebook for a rescue group to step up and legally take responsibility of Frankie while her and her husband fostered him. After volunteering for a few months, Courtney realized she had truly found her passion and SNARR Northeast was born. Donation can be sent:

Our shelter dogs and the dogs in our foster homes rely entirely on the generosity of this community. Every bowl of food, every leash, blanket, toy, and bag of treats makes a direct difference in their daily lives. Right now, our shelves are running low, and the need keeps growing as more dogs come into our care.

For dogs who enjoy the company of other dogs, matching them with dog friends of complimentary play style and working to get them out in playgroups as much as possible is key to lowering kennel stress levels and keeping them as happy as ca be! We try to do as many playgroups as we can here at SNARR’s adoption center, safely mixing and matching until we find the right group vibes! Snow day playgroups are particularly FUN!!❄️☃️🐾

Sweet King recently found himself out of time at an overcrowded shelter in the city with his hope just about to run out. After spending 8 years living with a family, one day they decided they could no longer care for him, due to no fault of his own, and surrendered him to the Animal Care Centers of NYC. Heartbroken and confused, King's world was turned upside down.

As his time counted down, day by day, he quickly won over all the staff and volunteers who described him as their favorite, a real peace, who is sweet, wiggly, friendly and happy. But between his age and his skin condition he had (that required medical care), he landed himself on the euthanasia list. This poor boy didn't deserve what was about to happen, so SNARR decided to take him in and give him the second chance he deserved.

Now safe in a loving foster home, King has been able to get the proper medical care and attention that he needed. In just a matter of weeks, King has started his healing process and is ready to start the next chapter of his life.

This sweet 8 year old, 55lb boy is so special. He bonds with people easily and is always happy to be in their company. He's a fantastic companion dog, so loving and just the most amazing cuddler. He finds comfort laying next to or own you, a typical pittie, he doesn't believe in personal space and prefers to be touching.

King gets along amazingly with everyone he meets -- dogs, cats, adults and young kids. He's gentle and sweet with a big block head, and an even bigger heart. He listens well and is eager to please. He's enjoys going for walks, walks wonderfully on the leash, and is eager to make new friends when exploring the neighborhood.

King is truly a good boy who deserves to know the comfort of a home to call his own and a family who won't give up on him. Are you the forever family King has been patiently waiting for?

Meet Lisa!

Lisa and her littermates came from an unplanned litter in rural South Carolina, where life didn’t start out easy. She was found living on the streets, starving and struggling to survive with a pack of other stray dogs. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in to give them all the care, love, and second chance they deserved. Now up in NY, she's safe and thriving in a local foster home and it’s Lisa’s turn to shine!

About to turn 1, this happy, social pup is always happy to make a new friend— whether it’s people, kids, or other dogs. She’s playful, affectionate, and loves being part of the action, whether that’s chasing toys, going for walks, or curling up for snuggles and belly rubs after a long day of fun.

Clocking in at just 40lbs, Lisa is the perfect medium sized girl who's ready to join your pack and become your best friend and lifelong companion. Lisa will make a wonderful addition to just about any family — she’s adaptable, eager to please, and full of love to give.

Meet Parsley, this handsome 2.5 year old, 50lb mixed breed boy who is looking for his forever family. 🐾

A home body and a wonderful companion at his core, Parsley is happiest around his people and pack. Whether it's keeping you company while you WFH, do yardwork outside, going for a walk in the neighborhood, jumping in the car to run errands, or snuggling up on the couch at the end of the day -- Parsley is up for it all, as long as he's with YOU.

A smart boy and a quick study, Parsley is eager to train and learn new tricks, plus he's food motivated (which makes training him much easier for us humans). He has mastered the basics, listens well, and walks great on a leash.

This affectionate boy gives the gentlest kisses and is such a wonderful cuddler, but be warned, this adorable pup will absolutely steal your favorite spot on the couch or in bed, in addition to stealing your heart! 🥰

Parsley would love to find his place with his forever family, in a calm house with a yard to spend time outdoors smelling all of the smells. He'd be happy to have another resident dog to pal around with, but he would honestly be just as happy being the center of attention.

This is Falcon.

After making the long trip up from TX and living in the comfort of a foster home, Falcon's world has been turned upside down. Falcon just lost his foster, due to no fault of his own, and now he's waiting at our adoption center in Brewster, NY, hoping someone else will open up their heart and their home to him.

Don't be fooled by his looks and breed, this boy not your typical Husky. He's easy going, gets along great with other dogs, and has big heart.

This affectionate and sweet boy loves cuddles, belly rubs, being close to his human companions and even enjoys being a couch potato. His loyalty is unwavering, and he will quickly become your devoted friend and protector.

Wanda is the kind of dog who turns heads—not just because of her striking brindle coat and soulful eyes, but because her energy and heart are absolutely contagious.

This beautiful 3 year old, 50lb girl is playful, affectionate, and full of life. She’s the kind of pup who reminds you to enjoy the little things—zoomies in the yard, snuggles after a long walk, and the simple joy of being together.

Wanda’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was found as a stray in Louisiana and ended up in an overcrowded shelter, where she faced the risk of euthanasia simply because no one came for her. But this girl is a survivor—and our rescue stepped in just in time to give her the second chance she so deeply deserves. Now safe at our adoption center in Brewster, NY, Wanda is patiently waiting for the one thing she still doesn’t have: a loving, committed home of her own.

Wanda would be happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard where she can run and play each day. Wanda LOVES other dogs and would be over the moon to have a doggy sibling to romp and cuddle with. Wanda is very interested in her feline friends in a playful excited way, so if you have a cat that interacts and plays with the dogs Wanda would love them.

Wanda's wonderful with people of all ages—friendly, outgoing, and always ready to give kisses. She’s adventurous and athletic, making her the perfect companion for hikes, runs, or active weekend plans.
