🎅 Ho ho hay! Santa Buttercup here, popping into your feed with a very official holiday update from the Pegasus barn. I have checked the list. Twice. It mostly says “more carrots.”

🐴 The rest of the herd is clearly having fun. There’s extra nickering, dramatic head tilts for attention, and a lot of “is that for me?” energy whenever someone walks by with a bucket.

Behind the scenes, the Pegasus staff is keeping the whole operation running with love, patience, and some truly impressive cold-weather skills. They’re the reason the barn stays warm, the horses stay happy, and the magic keeps happening.

This holiday season, we just want to say thank you. Your support fills more than hay nets, it fills hearts, creates confidence, and makes moments in the arena possible every single day.

There’s something that happens during our Veterans and First Responder programs that never fails to stop us in our tracks.

There’s a moment when the world goes quiet.
No words. No equipment. Just breath, body language, and trust.

It’s called joining-up.

Without a halter, without a lead rope, and without a word spoken, the horse makes a choice. They turn in. They walk forward. They stand beside the participant, not because they’re asked, but because they want to.

At Winter Wonderland, we were honored to share a live demo of this work and to watch it unfold in real time. What you’re seeing in these photos isn’t training or obedience. It’s trust. It’s communication. It’s a horse saying, “I see you. I’m with you.”

For many of our Veterans and First Responders, this moment is powerful. Horses respond to presence, intention, and emotional honesty. They meet people exactly where they are, without judgment and without expectation, offering presence when it’s needed most.

That connection is where the real work begins.
This is where healing begins.
This is why the work matters. 💙
