What's one thing someone said or did that brought you comfort after losing a beloved pet? It might be exactly what someone else needs to hear today. 🤍

A few days in Seattle, countless conversations, and so many reasons to feel grateful. 💜🤓☕️

Attending the ACVIM Forum 2026 () was an incredible opportunity to continue learning, get current on the latest advances in vet med, and bring new knowledge back to the patients, clients, and teams I have the privilege of serving.

One of the things I love the most about conferences like this is that the learning doesn't just happen in the lecture rooms. It happens over coffee, during dinner, all while exploring a bustling city.

And these conversations are a little more special because they're with colleagues who share the same passion for helping animals as I do.

This trip reminded me not just how important it is to invest in your continuing education, but also in your professional community.

Having friends who understand the unique challenges, joys, and emotional weight of this profession is something I'll never take for granted.

Until next time, ACVIM! Thank you for the memories, the friendships, and the inspiration. 🐾

Did you attend? Share your takeaways.

Discover why doxorubicin is called the "Red Devil 👹," how it works when we use it in pet cancer care, and how its effects are different from those in people.

Curious? 🤓

Watch now to learn more about this lifesaving chemotherapy drug, and don't forget to drop your questions in the comments!

P.S. & Fun Fact: your pet’s urine may look pink or reddish for a short period after treatment because the drug itself is bright red.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do... is take a break. ☀️💜

The work will always be there.
The emails can wait.
The to-do list will still be waiting tomorrow.

But summer doesn't last forever. (Unfortunately)

So laugh a little louder. Spend time with the people you love. Take the trip. Watch the sunset. Say yes to making memories.

And if you're carrying grief right now, whether from losing a beloved pet, caring for one with cancer, or simply navigating a difficult season, know this:

You're still allowed to experience joy.

Having moments of happiness doesn't diminish your love, your loss, or your grief. It simply means you're human.

So consider this your reminder to soak up the moment. Life is happening right now. 💜🐾

Consider this my official audition for the documentary: The Internet Was Very Confident… and Very Wrong. 🎬

The internet can be a great place to start, but it should never be the final diagnosis. 😅

Google, Claude, and ChatGPT can help explain information, help you ask better questions, and may even help interpret test results.

But they do not have your pet in front of them. Without the physical exam and the full clinical context tying everything together, they cannot make an accurate diagnosis or prognosis.

So yes, while it is helpful to use the internet to help you ask better questions it’s important that we leave the diagnosing to the veterinary professionals who actually evaluate your pet.

Be honest... what's the wildest diagnosis the internet has ever convinced you your pet had? 😂👇

“I knew it, I knew you” baby girl 💛

On another note, I’ve heard people say, if you don’t like Taylor Swift’s music, you haven’t needed to yet, and that is too true.

Especially when it comes to this song for me in this season.

If you’re in a season of grief, know you’re not alone. I’m on this journey with you. 🐾

Comment the name of your pet that you’re missing right now in the comments. 💬
