Sugar's Gift Inc.

Sugar's Gift Inc. Sugar’s Gift™: Our mission is to provide hospice, euthanasia and end-of-life veterinary service SUGAR’S GIFT, INC. on that date.

SUGAR’S GIFT, INC.’s mission is to provide end-of-life hospice, euthanasia, and veterinary services for terminally ill pets who need veterinary services at their owners’ homes. This could be due to the pet’s inability to be moved or treated at a facility or due to the owner’s inability to leave the home, for example, if either pet or owner is home-bound. was formed because of a personal story and

very few solutions that were available to us. Our 10-year old Yorkie, Sugar, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that had spread to her liver, and ultimately to her nervous system, in mid-September 2013. We cared for her around the clock until the day we had to have her put to sleep, which was October 18, 2013. That date is significant in our lives, which is why we incorporated SUGAR’S GIFT, INC. This is very difficult for us to say, but we must. Please DO NOT contact us about euthanizing your pet when there is another alternative. Simply because he/she has become an "inconvenience" or because you cannot afford to keep him or her....or because his or her medical expenses are too expensive is NOT a reason to call us. We will not help you in that situation. There are animal rescues and senior pet rescues that specialize in helping with medical expenses or who will take your pet and re-home him or her. Your pet would have the chance to be loved by someone else who either can afford to care for him or her, or who can afford his or her medical expenses. We are here to help those who truly have pets at their “End of Life” phase and homebound pet owners whose pets are truly at their “End of life” phase. We know we will get some hate mail and and messages because of this notice, but anyone who truly loves his or her pets will understand this message. We love all animals and want the best for each and every one of them. We understand the inability to care for pets and their expenses. If that is the case, a surrender to a rescue is a better alternative for your pet - not euthanasia. It is not about a better alternative for you.🌈

Interesting!

Huskies have fur which insulates them against the harsh polar elements hence why some huskies love being outside in the snow. Some people can’t get their huskies inside! However haven’t you wondered why huskies put their heads under their tails to sleep? Well this is why.. you can see the heat leaves their face as the fur is thinner here so they need to use their tails as additional insulation.

If you know of any business owners (or are one) who may be willing to rent us some space in their office space or building for our freezer and some inventory (very small footprint) we would love to hear from you! We can pay a small amount for the electricity we use for it.

It can be in Sarasota or Manatee County and we would need access to the space during and after hours, so bear that in mind. It would be best to have access, perhaps, near a service, if possible.

It can be a tax write off, too!

Thanks, in advance…❤️🐾

Hello friends and supporters….

We need help in a few areas and I wanted to reach out to all of you. We are expanding and working some new hours and that is a good thing!

First, we need people who can help transport pets when our wonderful team member Cheryl Brady with Vet Care Express Animal Ambulance is unavailable. It would be mornings, late afternoons and evenings, and possible weekends. In some cases with larger dogs, 2 people may be needed. You will receive payments for your help with transportation.

Secondly, we need some help with phone calls and scheduling. We have multiple vets working with us now, and we can certainly divide up those responsibilities among more than one person. We need people who are compassionate, caring and good with people. Small pay could be involved with these positions, as well.

Last, we need help with administrative work, such as newsletters, social media coordination and other tasks like donation tracking.

Anyone interested, please reach out to us via email: [email protected], or call us at 942-718-5066. You can also message us here on Facebook.

Thank you!

This beautiful girl, Callie Russo, crossed the Rainbow Bridge recently with our help and the help of Drs. Wendy and Kyle with Holistic Veterinary House Calls and Cheryl Brady with Vet Care Express Animal Ambulance.

From Dad, Nick:

"Callie Russo

Rest in peace, sweet Callie. You were the best dog, full of love, energy, and kindness. You adored everyone you met, especially the kids, and filled our lives with joy. We’ll miss your playful spirit and the love you brought into our home. Run free, girl..."

Callie, yes, run free and be healthy again, baby girl. Be free to eat, run, play and give lots of hugs to our babies waiting for us at the Bridge...

This handsome man, Zippy Ritter, crossed the Rainbow Bridge recently with our help and the help of Drs. Wendy and Kyle at Holistic Veterinary House Calls, and Cheryl Brady with Vet Care Express Animal Ambulance. Thanks, again, to our wonderful team for their help and compassion

From Mom, Harma:

"In short, Zippy had a very, very, good life filled with dog siblings, dog friends and many human friends.
He traveled far and wide in the US. He was welcome everywhere as he was such an easy popper.
More than anything he loved to spend time with us and we happily obliged, taking him swimming, biking, car travels, RV travels, hiking, boating, parties etc.
He had a failing heart valve(typical for Cavvies) which was discovered many years ago but despite its progression he loved life with gusto. He had a cardiologist, good medical care, good food and lots of love but he surprised all of us, living until he was 14.5 years old."

Sweet Zippy, run and play at the Bridge and be healthy again. Watch over your family and let them know you are safe and waiting for them....

Until We Meet Again....❤️🐾🌈

Our Story

The mission of Sugar’s Gift™ Inc. is to provide hospice, euthanasia and end-of-life veterinary services for terminally ill pets in their own homes. This allows them a comfortable, peaceful setting, where they have lived and been loved, to cross over the Rainbow Bridge with dignity. Our services overcome conditions that could be due to the pet’s inability to be moved or treated at a facility, or due to the owner’s inability to leave the home. We also help those Little Angels whose pet owners can afford veterinary care but prefer to donate to an organization that can help their babies cross the Rainbow Bridge from home with comfort, dignity and peace.

Our 10-year old Yorkie, Sugar, passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2013. We made sure she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge from home with comfort, dignity and peace. Sugar’s gift to your Little Angel is to allow them the same privilege: Sugar is helping them cross over the Rainbow Bridge from home, with the help from others who have donated funds to make that happen. Every Little Angel should be able to spend their last moments in the place they are most comfortable – at home.

We also provide education to pet owners in a workshop setting to help them understand the benefits of Pet Trusts in their Estate Planning Documents. It is our intention to give them the information they need to recognize how impactful their written last wishes can be to the future of their beloved pet - either positively or negatively.

Sugar’s Gift™ is the only non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization in the country whose mission is to help terminally ill pets cross over the Rainbow Bridge from home with comfort, dignity and peace.
