Schmidt stopped by for a visit with Dr. Linenberger recently. 🩺

Schmidt is a Cassini (Austral) Peregrine Falcon and an ambassador bird with The Peregrine Fund.

One of the biggest threats birds of prey can face is secondary rodenticide poisoning. When rodents consume poison bait, predators like hawks, owls, and falcons can be exposed too.

If you need rodent control at home:
🦅 Avoid loose outdoor bait whenever possible
🦅 Use enclosed, tamper-resistant bait stations
🦅 Consider snap traps or exclusion methods first
🦅 Never leave poisoned rodents accessible outdoors

Wildlife conservation often starts with small choices close to home. 💚

Some of the best moments in veterinary medicine are also the smallest.

This tiny duckling was brought in by a good Samaritan and spent part of the day happily paddling around a treatment room sink.

Days can get busy around here, so moments like this are always a nice reminder to slow down and appreciate the little things. 🦆💚

There are many ways to help reduce stress during veterinary visits. 💚

Sometimes it’s calming medications before appointments.
Sometimes it’s moving a little slower, adding treats, or using distraction techniques like lick mats.
And sometimes… it’s bear ears. 🐻

For Phoebe, her tried-and-true method is the ears.
For Georgia, it’s staying close to her best friend. 🐾

Honestly, everyone deserves a comfort buddy on stressful days (and cute accessories too 😉).

Not every patient who visits Habitat has fur. 🐢💚

This yellow-bellied slider stopped by for a checkup and reminded us just how important proper reptile care can be. UVB lighting, clean water, habitat setup, and balanced nutrition all play a huge role in long-term health for turtles and other reptiles.

Also? Tiny turtle faces are objectively adorable. 😍

Ball pythons are known for their calm temperaments, beautiful patterns, and tendency to politely explore anything within reach… including your arm.

And yes, Peaches was every bit as sweet as the name suggests. 🥰
