🎃🐾 Spooky Season, Healthy Pets! 🐾🎃

October is Pet Wellness Month, and while Halloween is fun for us, it can create a few extra hazards for our furry family members!

Keep your pets happy, healthy, and safe this Halloween with a few simple tips:

🍫 Skip the sweets: Chocolate, sugar-free candy containing xylitol, and other Halloween treats can be dangerous for pets.

🕯️ Decorate with care: Keep candles, small decorations, and electrical cords out of reach of curious paws.

🚪 Watch the door: Frequent visitors can mean extra opportunities for pets to slip outside. Keep them secure, and make sure their ID tags are up to date!

🐾 Prioritize prevention: Routine wellness exams help keep your pet healthy year-round.

Have questions about your pet's health or wellness? Our team at Ewing Animal Hospital is here to help!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Halloween! 🧡🖤

🎃👻Holidays can be fun for humans but not so much for your pets. Keep them safe by keeping (human) treats locked in a safe place, avoiding accidental escapes from frequent door opening, stress and anxiety from costumes they don’t love, dangerous decore, and more! Visit American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to learn more.

Cats are smart. Did you know they can recognize their owner’s voice but often choose not to respond? 😆 Studies suggest cats distinguish their owner’s voice from strangers’ voices, even when they don’t come when called.
