🌾 Cheatgrass season is here! 🌾
Those dry, barbed grass seeds may seem harmless, but they can become lodged in your pet’s paws, ears, eyes, nose, and skin—leading to pain, infection, and sometimes even surgery.
🐾 After every walk or hike:
✔️ Check your pet’s paws (especially between the toes)
✔️ Look inside their ears
✔️ Check around their eyes and nose
✔️ Brush through their coat
If your pet is suddenly limping, shaking their head, sneezing excessively, squinting, or obsessively licking a paw, cheatgrass could be the culprit.
📞 If you suspect your pet has a cheatgrass awn, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. Early detection and removal can help prevent serious complications.
