American Warmblood
Gelding

This talented gelding has a charming outgoing personality and is a great all around type. He would excel in various disciplines from eventing to jumpers to dressage and maybe even an equitation class. He is happy to go for a hack, just flat in the ring, and loves jumping both in and out of the ring. He has schooled up to 1.05 at home and is a total packer at .85. Plenty of ability to keep moving up! This guy prefers a steady rider but can take a joke. Suitable for a teen or adult. He hasn’t really had a chance to shine yet but 2025 is his year ✨🤩🌟

Gotta love a good thoroughbred 😊

If you visit Anne Kursinski’s Market Street facility in Frenchtown, New Jersey, you might notice a striking bay gelding with a broad blaze and four white socks being ridden by one of her students or her partner, Carol Hoffman. You might wonder about his breeding—until you remember that for Kursi...

Getting in a new OTTB in winter is a challenge especially if they are not in the best condition on arrival.

Sometimes I have to remind myself to have PATIENCE and that they are making positive progress in their own time. They can’t go from drab to fab overnight. The horse can physically only gain so much weight/muscle per day. They can only progress in their training as fast as their body and mind can allow for.

I’ve found that rushing or skipping the boring basics of training or pushing the horse harder than they mentally and physically can do is the top reason I get sent “problem” horses. We ask so much of them.

What I love most is seeing a diamond in the rough turn into its best self. Some take a year and some a few months but they are all worth it.

The horse pictured is relatively new. He has been making progress by leaps and bounds in a very short period of time. This photos are so encouraging and I can’t wait to see what he does in the future.

ENJOY THE PROCESS

Our Story

The name Llew Oren is Welsh for the “color orange”. We choose the name for our foundation horses, two matching chestnut mares both named Ginger. In addition everything on the farm ended up orange by coincidence! The two barn cats, the equipment, and for a bit so many chestnut horses.

Llew Oren Farm & Stables is based out of Scott Abeel’s Rock Ridge farm in The Plains Virginia. The 90 acre farm consists of a 20 stall barn, huge outdoor arena, board fenced paddocks, and is centrally located between Routes 50 and 66.

The partnership is between Shannon Venezia (SMV Equestrian) and Ross Salter. Ross Salter also offers farrier, bush-hogging, and hay sales services.

Our services include SALES of sport horses both stateside and in the UK, TRAINING, and limited BOARDING spaces. We welcome all disciplines but focus on foxhunters.
