Sleep is essential for the overall health of the horse. Horses have multiple periods of sleep (usually short) throughout the day with most of their sleep occurring at night. To educate a horse to perform in any disciplines a good understanding of his anatomy in relation to his locomotion has to be described. The results of studies revealed that 74% of the horses with back pain had a form of lameness and 32% of lame horses had an evidence of back problems.
