Whatcom Voice of the Animals Whatcom Voice of the Animals (WVoA) is a non-profit organization that seeks to reduce the number of needless deaths of unwanted cats/kittens.

We are volunteer supported and do not have a central shelter. Please email us [email protected] We are a non-profit, no kill, and foster only cat rescue. We work really hard to find the right home for every kitty we rescue. We also can assist people with getting cats fixed for free or very low cost when our resources allow. We want to reduce the number of kitties without homes and the best way to do that is to get your kitties fixed!

Confirming for you as we are occasionally contacted for assistance. Due to retirement, Whatcom Voice of the Animals is no longer in service. We have closed.

After 41 years of dedicated service towards the care and welfare of cats and kittens, WVOA's Director Laina Jansma is leaning towards retirement. Laina has been serving the community and has championed as the voice of little ones unable to speak for themselves since 1990 with WVOA and many years previously with other agencies. We thank her for her lifelong commitment.

We have our remaining few kitties available listed under our adoptive cats album. These kitties are ones that have been passed by for adoptions in the past. All need special homes. Some are shy of people and need a quiet home with humans that are content to allow the kitty the time they need to adjust to a new home and some may need to be fed special diets. We hope there are loving homes looking for kitties in need. Until those special adoptive families come forward, we will keep the kitties with us as that is our no-kill promise to them.

WVOA will continue to support the Pet Food Bank twice monthly outside the Bellingham Food Bank.
