’Twas the Night Before Christmas at All Shepherd Rescue
’Twas the night before Christmas at All Shepherd Rescue,
And the dogs were quiet… but hearts were still blue.💙
The leashes hung neatly, the crates tucked in rows,
While dreams of warm couches danced under cold snows.❄️
Ace lifted his head at a sound down the hall,
Harley wagged softly — hopeful, yet small.
Tommy curled tighter, brave eyes shining bright,
While Lady dreamed sweetly of a home every night.🏡
Berkeley sighed gently, his healing begun,
Minka stayed close — she’s everyone’s sun.
Cyrus stood watchful, loyal and true,
Julio leaned in, just waiting for you.
Rocky and Lee shared a blanket so tight,
Fitz gave a tail thump, still full of delight.
Rainey’s one ear flopped, her spirit so strong,
Nash stretched out dreaming — where he belongs.
Shadow & Glitter peeked shyly, still young but so wise,🐶
Kayo and Kaya with hope in their eyes.
And Kimmy, sweet Kimmy, once forgotten, once small,
Just wished for a family — that’s all, that’s all.
Stockings were hung by a fireplace warm,
Sweet dogs all asleep while the snow gently stormed.
But each ASR dog made one simple plea:
“A home. A family. A place just for me.”
Then out on the webpage, a post shared with care,
A click, then an email — could this be their prayer?🙏🏻
A foster said yes, an adopter did too,
And Christmas felt closer for one… maybe two?
So here’s our reminder, as the holidays near:
The greatest of gifts doesn’t come once a year.
It has four muddy paws 🐾 and a heart full of grace,
And it’s waiting right now for a home… and a place.❤️
