Tiny wins matter.

Not because they’re “good enough” replacements for big goals—but because they are the path there.

Sometimes progress looks like:
seeing a trigger and still being able to eat
moving away instead of escalating
recovering in 2 minutes instead of 20

Those moments can be easy to overlook when you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or focused on where you wish things were already. But behavior change happens in small moments of safety, choice, and recovery.

So if things feel hard right now, this is your reminder to celebrate the tiny wins too. They count. A lot. 💛

What’s a tiny win your dog had recently?

Research across species suggests:
The ability to make choices reduces stress
Predictability improves coping
Perceived control changes nervous system responses
Choice itself may fulfill a fundamental biological need

That doesn’t mean dogs should never experience frustration or boundaries.
But it does invite us to ask:
1. Does my dog understand?
2. Do they feel safe?
3. Do they have any agency in this process?
4. Am I building cooperation…or compliance?

A lot of behavior changes when nervous systems feel included vs trapped.

I’d love to help you connect the dots 💛

Cooperative care is about more than nails.

For many dogs, repeated experiences of being listened to, slowed down for, and supported during care can change the way they feel about handling and human interaction over time.

And honestly, it can change us too.
It asks humans to slow down, observe more closely, practice listening, and recognize what our dogs’ bodies are communicating instead of only focusing on completing the task.

Not every dog will be comfortable with unrestrained nail trims, and that’s okay. Some dogs may still need additional support, management, medication, or veterinary handling for care tasks.

But building moments of predictability, agency, and safety where we can often matters far beyond the actual nail trim itself.

If you’re interested in learning how to better support your dog through handling, husbandry, cooperative care, or big feelings around grooming/body care, I’d love to work with you (link in bio).

Puppy socialization isn’t just about letting dogs play 🐾

Join us at | Tuesdays | 6:30PM!

Our weekly socials are trainer-led, meaning we’re intentionally supporting puppies as they learn how to navigate the world—not just each other

We focus on:
• Building relationship through reward-based learning
• Supporting confidence and resilience
• Teaching communication and appropriate play
• Introducing real-life experiences (think vet tools, grooming equipment, skateboards, costumes & more)

Because socialization isn’t just exposure—it’s how your puppy feels while it’s happening

Hope to see you there 😌💛🐾✨

Hi, I’m back 🌼

I’m feeling healthy again and happy to be back at work with a focus on balance, sustainability, and listening to my body along the way.

I’m currently accepting new clients and would love to support you and your dogs.

Some things in the works:
🐾 Puppy Socials at MDSPCA
🐾 Reactive leash walking classes at MDSPCA

I’m also launching a Ko-fi community as a way to stay more connected here—sharing practical training insights, behavior thoughts, and offering ongoing support for people living with dogs who have big feelings.

If my work has helped you before (or you enjoy what I share):
• liking/commenting helps more than you know
• sharing or referring a friend truly supports small business work like this
• and checking out my Ko-fi is a great way to stay connected 🤍

And if we haven’t talked in a while—I’d really love to hear how you and your dogs are doing.

Thanks for being here, even when I’ve been quiet 🌿

✨ 18 years clean of my drug of choice! ✨
It still feels like magic — if only it were that simple.

Not too different from dog training, it’s taken solid management, a behavior modification plan (with extensive community support), and lots of practice.

Just for today, I get to live a dream beyond my wildest dreams. 💛 Thank YOU for your support!! It means more than you know ☀️

If you or anyone you know needs help, please know there is help.

Hi friends 🙋🏻 It’s been a little while since I’ve shared here, so here’s a quick reintroduction & update!

I’m Hannah (she/they), the trainer behind . These are my two wonderful helper dogs, Potato & Benji 🐾💛 (pictured with me here). Together, we help support training sessions and make the work both practical and fun.

Since my last intro post, a lot has grown:
✨ I now have an associate trainer on the team (hi, Oli!) 😍
✨ We’re able to offer more availability for Baltimore guardians
✨ Our focus remains the same: helping dogs — without intimidation or pain — with big feelings (and their humans) build calmer, easier, and more joyful lives together.

Whether you’re working on door greetings, walks, or just trying to feel less stressed as a dog guardian — you’re in the right place.

💬 Whether we know each other already or you’re new here, I’d love to hear from you — drop your pup’s name (and maybe a fun fact or what you’re working on now!) below ⬇️ so we can say hi & celebrate together!

Reactive Dog Guardian Starter Pack: The ‘Oh No, Now What?’ Moments:

🔹 I see the trigger before my dog does… but now what?
🔹 My dog won’t take treats—are we doomed?
🔹 A loose dog appears out of nowhere—cue panic mode.
🔹 Trying to advocate for my dog while a stranger insists ‘Dogs love me!’
🔹 Managing my own nerves so I don’t accidentally stress my dog out more.

Sound familiar? You’re not alone! The world isn’t always set up for reactive dogs, but with the right skills and a solid game plan, you can navigate these moments with more confidence.

🙋🏻 I help reactive dog guardians:
✅ Build proactive strategies so you know exactly what to do
✅ Manage real-life challenges (like loose dogs and pushy people)
✅ Support your dog’s emotional recovery after tough moments

✨ Want more clarity and practice for those “oh no” moments? Let’s talk! DM me or drop a 🧠 in the comments if your brain has ever buffered mid-walk.
