Sweet Athena died suddenly yesterday. She was fine around noon. When made round to bring in dogs for night about 4:45, she was laying with her eyes open. It took a moment to realize she had passed. MW was sitting beside her with his paws on her. He has been moved inside and is with Maggie and Bond. Beth and I took time loving on him. He was adopted by Athena when he arrived as a puppy. They have only been separated while Athena recovered from surgery back in the Fall. Athena turned 13 in November. She was the weather dog. If she wanted in the house, there was weather coming. She had her chosen crate. Athena actually got lost years ago and was missing for 6 months. She had crossed mountain and joined a family picnic in Ridgeville. Athena did as pleased. Might listen, might not. Taught a lot of puppies manners through the years. She will be greatly missed.

Virgil of the Creekbank Squad is all cleaned up and ready to go with his new mom and grandmom. He has a furless siblings waiting on him to get there. Congratulations sweet boy! May you be furever happy in your new home.

Oliver of the O Squad has been at the rescue since he was 10 days old. He is now 9 years old. He came in with 10 siblings. Oliver is big, strong, cat aggressive, loves to run and ride in the car. He is a fierce protector and excellent alert dog.
