Can your verbal command hush up a rescue full of dogs?
Beth and I were logging and unloading donations. The dogs were getting louder by the second. One command, instant silence. The puppies started back to barking after a few seconds. The old timers didn’t make a sound.

Look at the donations from JB! A retired rescuer. She helped out in 2020 when the Easter Sunday Tornado hit the rescue and then when Big Wills flooded all the way to the front yard telephone pole. Igloo dog houses, smaller dog houses, watered, feeders, bowls, litter boxes. We can swap out some barrels for igloos. That was an experience. Thank you for the donations. Thank you for your military service!

Last Thursday, 4 Semi-feral kittens rode with me to Foley. Who knew a Tropical Storm was coming. The rescue is helping a Good Samaritan turned colony manager in Guntersville. So far, she has TNR’d 22 adults. The kittens ( there were originally more 😢) were supposed to go to Foley in April. Unfortunately, they broke with viral upper respiratory infection. TNR mom got on top of it, giving twice a day medicines, keeping the moms with babies separated from each other as best could. She basically has 2 porches and her garage set up like kitty clinics. There were 16 kittens left to spay/neuter, some moms and a male that has to be trapped. Some of the kittens have succumbed to the virus and as with all colonies, some have disappeared. I forgot to get pictures of Waffles, Snickers, Tofu and Latte before they returned to TNR mom. Here’s a clip of the downpour from the storm.

Meoweller says good morning. She lives outside and encourages the rodents to not live here. She refuses to go in cat house. She lays on steps but plays a serious game of catch me if you can…so far, she wins.
Her faca is not injured. It’s a shadow.

Ruby has returned to the rescue. The family that adopted her loved her very much. Unfortunately, Ruby’s energy and a family member’s energy were not a good match. Ruby is inside the house. She is doing well with Atlas, Maggie, the Chi’s and Blondie. She slept in crate last night and has pottied outside. She walks well on the leash. Crates on command. Working on other obedience skills. She is about 6 months old. Current weight 35lbs. She is available for adoption. roseacresrescue.org.

Liana is a stunning 4-year-old Dalmatian/Labrador mix with one blue eye and one brown eye, and a beautiful spotted coat. She weighs about 35 lbs and is full of charm and personality.

Her story began when her mother was rescued by animal control from an abuse situation. While at the pound, her mom gave birth to eight beautiful puppies, and once they were released to rescue, the whole family began to thrive. Now Liana is ready for a forever home of her own. Liana is the leader of her litter and has just the right mix of sugar and spice. She’s a people pleaser who loves ear scratches and attention, and while she adores people, she’s not shy about keeping her unruly brothers in line. She’s your perfect southern gal—sweet, sassy, and full of heart.

THE PERSON THAT COMMENTED ABOUT THE T-SHIRTS ON THE MARCH 16 POST HAS BEEN DELETED AND BLOCKED. I’m not sure how she got all those names to tag some of you. Never click on a link selling anything in comments. If the rescue is doing a fundraiser, it will have its own post. Apparently this person was very busy last night. I’ll post pictures in a new post.
