Oh my!! Our box is over-flowing!! If you have any extra blankets, sheets, dog/cat toys, unopened dog/cat food that you think a shelter pet would love, stop on by the clinic and place it under our giving tree!! All donations will be taken to Cobb County Animal Shelter at the end of the year!🎄

We’re popping on here to let you know that our Giving Tree is up!✨🎄

This year we are collecting donations for Cobb County Animal Shelter. Donations will be accepted through December 31st!

Items the shelter can use:
• Canned & dry dog food
• Canned & dry cat food
• Puppy & kitten formula (ex: KMR)
• Soft treats & biscuits
• Kong toys & enrichment toys
• Blankets (new or gently used)
• Towels & washcloths
• Pet-safe cleaning supplies
• Cat litter
• P*e pads
• Collars, leashes & harnesses
• Stainless steel bowls
• Grooming supplies (brushes, shampoo)

Every donation — big or small — helps make a huge difference for local shelter pets waiting for their forever families. 💚

We want to share something especially meaningful with our Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic family. 💙

Today, Dutch van Gelder-Kidd’s wonderful family gifted us a beautiful welcome mat in his honor. Dutch passed away peacefully at home over the summer, and this thoughtful gesture reflects just how loved he was—and how deeply he loved in return.

The mat now sits proudly in our lobby, greeting every patient and pet parent who walks through our doors. ❤️

To Dutch’s family: thank you for trusting us with his care, and for sharing a piece of his memory with everyone who visits our clinic. We are honored to celebrate his life each and every day.🐾

It's getting chilly! 🥶Cold weather can affect your pet's joints, skin, activity, and routines. Here are a few tips to prepare your pet for wintertime:
- Provide a warm and cozy space off of the floor and away from drafts
- Sweaters or jackets are great for short-haired, small or senior pets
- Limit your pet's time outside in the extreme cold
- Some pets' nutrition needs might change during the winter. Talk to your vet if you think this might be the case.

Time to play a game of True or False!

True or False:

Your pet doesn’t need heartworm and flea/tick prevention during the fall and winter.

❌ FALSE!

Your pet needs their prevention every single month — all year long.
Even when temperatures drop, those pesky mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks don’t just disappear. Some survive indoors, in sheltered outdoor areas, and can become active again on warmer days.

Keeping up with monthly prevention is the best way to protect your pet’s health, no matter the season. 🐾💙

So call us today to make sure your pet has their yearly updated heartworm test and has plenty of prevention to last the year! 🐾

(Bonus fact: Indoor cats can ALSO get fleas/ticks and heartworms! So they should be on their monthly prevention too!)

Our buddy Ollie and his wonderful family are headed east, and while we’re so excited for all that lies ahead for them, saying goodbye is tough!

We’ve had the absolute pleasure of caring for Ollie since 2018, and he’s truly become part of our family here. 🐾

Though we’ll miss seeing that sweet face, we can’t wait to hear about all of your new adventures on the coast!
