BEYOND THE EXAM ROOM!

Meet Nikki!

You might recognize her as the calm, friendly face helping soothe your nervous fur baby at Paces! She's been part of the team for a year and a half, and trust us, your pets are in very good hands.

If you're a cat lover, you'll have something in common with Nikki. She has one adorable kitty named Pita (who she bottle-fed as a baby--cue the collective "awwww"). Her ultimate mission in life? To pet every single cat in the world. No, seriously. ALL of them.

When she's not making your pets feel safe and loved, Nikki is probably curled up with a good book, journaling her thoughts, or exploring hidden gems around Atlanta.

Fun fact: Nikki has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, which comes in handy when calming anxious pets. She totally gets it--she's not a fan of doctor visits either, so helping animals feel more at ease is something she's super passionate about.

So the next time you're at Paces and you spot someone whispering sweet nothings to a nervous pup or bonding with a shy cat like they've been besties forever--that's probably Nikki. Be sure to say hi!

We had a special visitor today--meet Fell! This sweet kitten (and her brother Larka) came in for her routine kitten vet visit. She stole our hearts from day one - fitting, since she has a perfect heart-shaped mark on her nose!

Vet visits like today are super important for setting up a lifetime of good health. During the appointment, we boosted important vaccinations to protect her and her brother against serious (and preventable) diseases.

We also discussed continuing heartworm, flea, and tick prevention--because those tiny hitchhikers are a pest!

And yes, we checked that litter box behavior too--a simple f***l screening at their first and last visits helps us catch any unwanted parasites that could make these kittens sick.

Way to go Fell and Larka! You nailed todays visit...see you again in a few weeks!

And if youā€™re sweating through your shirt just walking to the mailbox, imagine how your pets feel in their permanent fur coats!

A few hot tips to keep your furry friends cool:
šŸ¾ Avoid walks on pavement that could fry an egg (or a paw)
šŸ¾ Keep water bowls full ā€” not just for drinking, but for dramatic splashingšŸ’¦
šŸ¾ If youā€™re hot, theyā€™re hotter ā€” no car rides unless the A/C is blasting
šŸ¾ Backyard time? Make sure thereā€™s shade and a breeze (or better yet, bring ā€˜em inside to chill in front of a fan like royalty)

BEYOND THE EXAM ROOM!

Meet Victoria!

If you've ever called or walked into Paces Ferry, chances are you've been greeted by Victoria's warm smile and awesome energy. She's one of our amazing receptionists and is just about to celebrate her one-year anniversary with us!

Even though she doesn't have any pets at the moment, she's definitely planning to welcome one into the family soon. Until then, she gets her daily does of animal love right here at the clinic!

When she's not helping clients or loving on your fur babies, Victoria is all about family time. You'll usually find her hanging out with her husband and son, especially if it involves being outdoors. Sunshine + family = her happy place!

Ready for a fun fact? In college, Victoria trained a rat and a chick! Yep, we're talking full-on training mode -- move over, Dr. Dolittle!

What does she love most about working in vet med? Getting to meet all of your adorable pets and helping make sure they stay happy, healthy, and spoiled (as they should be!)

Meet Lissa! šŸ¾

If you've visited us recently, there's a good chance you've met Lissa -- she's been part of the Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic team for almost a year now and brings so much warmth and energy to our crew!

Lissa is a proud pet parent to two adorable fur-babies, Bruno and Yoshi. When she's not at the clinic caring for your pets, you can probably find her outside soaking up some sunshine, curled up with a good book, or spending time with her friends and family.

Here's a fun fact: Lissa used to be a competitive barrel racer! That's right -- before joining the the vet world, she was racing around barrels on horseback like a pro!

Her love for animal run's deep, and veterinary medicine has always been a true passion. She finds so much joy in meeting new pets (and their people!) and especially loves seeing familiar patients return happy, healthy, and thriving.

Meet David!

Heā€™s been a vital part of the Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic team for the past three yearsā€”keeping pets healthy and spirits high. At home, heā€™s the proud pet parent of two characters: Toto, who runs the house, and Biggie, who may or may not be dropping his next mixtape soon.

When heā€™s off the clock, David can be found exploring new places, leveling up in video games, or getting lost in musicā€”either through his headphones or his own instruments!šŸŽ¶

Fun fact: heā€™s a dual citizen with family in Austria, so heā€™s just as comfortable diagnosing a sick pup as he is enjoying schnitzel in the Alps.

Davidā€™s favorite part of the job? Helping sick pets feel better and helping the doctors crack tough diagnostic cases like the Sherlock Holmes of veterinary medicine.

Meet Elana!

Elanaā€™s been with us for 2.5 years (but 7 years total in vet-med!). She shares her life (and probably her snacks) with two adorable furballs: Biggie, the 15-year-old senior citizen with legendary status, and Toto, whoā€™s pushing 10 but still living his best life (yes, thereā€™s no place like homeā€¦ with Elana).

Outside the clinic, Elana is all about travel, quality time with family, and making art in every formā€”drawing, painting, crocheting, jewelry-makingā€¦ basically, if it involves creativity, sheā€™s into it.

Fun Fact: Right after high school, she spent three months in South Africaā€”because starting adulthood with elephants and adventure just felt right. šŸ˜

Her favorite part of the job? Helping nervous pets feel safe, watching the sick ones get better, and seeing puppies and kittens grow up without a care in the world.

Meet Hilary!

Hilary joined the Paces team in 2009 as a vet tech and, after years of hard work and a whole lot of dog hair, she proudly stepped into the role of Hospital Manager in 2021. Sheā€™s mom to two lovable pittiesā€”Nora and Spockā€”and one energetic human son who keeps her on her toes even more than the dogs do.

Animals arenā€™t just Hilaryā€™s jobā€”theyā€™re her lifestyle. Whether sheā€™s cuddling her own pups, or befriending the neighborā€™s cat, sheā€™s happiest when thereā€™s fur involved. As a kid, she dreamed of becoming a vet, so getting to help animals every day is pretty much living the dream!

Her favorite thing about Paces? The people and their pets. Hilary loves catching up with clients, watching their pets grow, and being part of their livesā€”one wagging tail at a time.
