Antioch Animal Services Antioch Animal Services is dedicated to promoting animal welfare and public awareness. The City of Antioch operates a full service Animal Shelter.

Antioch Animal Services is a bureau of the Antioch Police Department and is responsible for public safety, enforcing local and state laws, as well as caring for the animals in our shelter. Antioch Animal Services is unique in that we only serve Antioch residents and do so 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The cities surrounding Antioch rely on Contra Costa County Animal Services for their animal

related needs. We recognize the responsibility this bureau has to fairly and wisely exercise good judgment when trying to accomplish our mission. We acknowledge that we are held to a higher standard; therefore, our personal and professional lives must be exemplary. We provide care for the lost, homeless and unwanted animals found or surrendered within the City of Antioch. We work closely with local animal welfare organizations to increase the number of animals that are placed into loving homes.

At today's Bark (& Meow) Around the Block Event courtesy of Berkeley Humane and brought by NBC Universal / Clear the Shelters event in partnership with Hill’s Pet Nutrition we HAVE to give a shout out to the many volunteers from all the shelters, rescues and other organizations who made it such a success! 206 adopted pets is AMAZING! 🥳

Kilo went missing two weeks ago from his home in Oakley. His owners were looking endlessly and were checking in with us as we had a flurry of Shepherd/Husky types arrive.

When a wonderful family walked in yesterday with a white Husky mix our team were hopeful it was Kilo. The finders thought it was.....

We made the call 📞, and the Stef family hurried over to the shelter. A stoic, dirty, exhausted looking, slightly matted & limping, thin built blue eyed dog turned into a wiggly, tail wagging "puppy" at the first sniff of his people. 🥰

Kilo is now home...& now microchipped. 👌🥳

A big "Thank you" to Kilo's finders for bringing him home. 🙏

A big shout out to the Fido Alert community who are a HUGE help in connecting missing pets with their owners and reinforcing that we should when it comes to the pets that are found.
