It is a feel-good evening, and honestly, we really needed one!
In rescue and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), we see our fair share of heartbreak and suffering. But today brought a story that reminded us exactly why we do what we do.
I received a call from a sweet elderly woman in her 80s who was desperately trying to find a place to surrender her two 13-year-old cats. When I asked her why she felt she had to give them up, she immediately broke down in tears.
A few months ago, she suffered a severe fall, breaking both her arm and her hip. Because of her injury, her in-home caregiver complained about having to regularly clean the litter boxes—and issued a heartbreaking ultimatum: if she wanted to keep her caregiving services, she had to "get rid" of her beloved cats.
We couldn't let that happen. After talking things through, we came up with a win-win solution: we are providing her with an automatic Litter-Robot! Her son or myself will swing by once a week (or whenever needed) to empty the bag receptacle.
Just like that, two senior cats get to stay in the only loving home they’ve ever known, and a wonderful woman gets to keep the companions she lives for. 🐾❤️
This is exact reason why we constantly post asking for your non-working Litter-Robots!
When you donate your broken or unused units to us, we clean, repair, and restore them to full working order. We then place them directly with elderly or disabled community members who just need a little extra help to keep their pets.
Thank you to everyone who donates, repairs, and supports this mission. Together, we aren't just saving cats—we're keeping families together!
