🌾 Foxtail Warning for Pet Owners 🌾

Foxtails may look harmless, but these grass awns can be extremely dangerous for pets. Their barbed shape allows them to burrow into the body and continue migrating deeper into tissue, causing serious pain, infection, and even life-threatening complications.
Common places foxtails become embedded include:
🐾 Between the toes and paws
👂 Ears
👃 Nose
👁 Eyes
They can also become lodged in the gums or tonsils if your pet chews or eats them.

Signs to watch for:
• Swelling between the paws
• Sudden sneezing or nasal discharge, particularly if there’s blood
• Head shaking or ear sensitivity
• Squinting, redness, or eye discharge
• Swelling, pain, or sudden discomfort

If you suspect there is ANY possibility your pet has a foxtail stuck, please bring them in immediately. Early removal is critical and can prevent much more serious complications.
Please check your pets carefully after walks, hikes, or time spent in grassy areas, especially during foxtail season. 💜

🎉🐾 Celebrating 27 Years of Caring for Our Community! 🐾🎉

Today we’re proud to celebrate 27 incredible years of serving the pets and families in our community. It has been an honor to be part of your pets lives through every stage.

What makes this milestone even more meaningful is that we remain one of the only independently owned, non-corporate veterinary hospitals in the city.

For 27 years, we’ve stayed committed to the values that started it all:
❤️ Compassionate medicine
❤️ Honest recommendations and individualized care
❤️ Putting pets first

To every client who has trusted us, every pet who has walked through our doors, and every team member who has helped shape our journey, thank you. We wouldn’t be here without you.

Here’s to 27 years of independence, community, and caring for the pets we love , and many more to come! 🐶🐱🎂

Join us in celebrating a very special milestone! 🎓✨

Our inventory manager and Dr. Hageman’s daughter, Mallory, has officially completed her education at UC Davis and we couldn’t be more proud!

While some of you know her for stocking our hospital and helping up front during the summer , we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow, work hard, and achieve this incredible accomplishment.

As she takes this exciting next step, she’ll be pursuing a career working with children, something we know she’ll bring the same compassion, dedication, and heart to every single day. 💜

Congratulations on all her hard work and success, we’re so lucky to have been part of her journey and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things she’ll do next!
