- The CPHS will NOT EUTHANIZE for length of stay. Providing there is quality of life for the pet, he/she has a safe place with us until they are adopted.

Sage is an 11 month old female. She is a German Shorthaired Pointer mix. She is only 31 lbs. She is a lot of energy and has a hard time settling. If someone with the time puts in the work with her she will be an awesome dog! She can live with kids, She behaves better around cats who set boundaries otherwise she chases and annoys them. We know not every dog she meets will tolerate her energy.

** Sage is in our care in Altoona PA. She is available for adoption. Each animal gets microchipped, spayed/neutered, 4DX testing and vaccinated. The adoption fee covers those costs. Adoption fees are listed on the application. An application must be filled out in order to visit with any dog or cat. They can be found on our website www.centralpahumane.org under the Adopt A Pet tab or at the shelter. Our animals are posted on Facebook and Petfinder when time permits. AVAILABLE DOG INFORMATION!!! PLEASE READ!

We don’t always have time to update Petfinder. It takes time to upload the available dogs and occasionally the site crashes! Therefore, we always post on Facebook first. If you see a dog in our adoptable dog album and the caption doesn’t state “no longer available”, that means the dog is available.

A Petfinder inquiry is not an application. That just sends an email to us stating someone is interested with no other info. Petfinder is just an extra website we use to advertise our available animals.

Tock came to CPHS with his brothers and one sister! If you’re looking for an extra large sweet pup in your life, you found him. He is a mixed breed (we know his mom is a Weimaraner and his dad is likely a Lab/Bernese moutain dog mix). He is currently 5 months old.

He loves dogs, he can live with cats, and he likes kids! He would love an active family! He’s still a puppy, so he will need help with house training!!

Meet Flutter Shy!

This girl is an 11 week old basset hound mix. She is as sweet as she looks. Her ears are basically velvet and her droopy eyes make your heart melt. She will do well in a home with dogs, cats, and kids!

Meet Dudley. Can you hear him howling through this picture? Yeah, we can too. Dudley is about 3 years old. He’s your typical beagle. His nose hits the ground and his sniffer goes wild. Due to this, no kitties for him. He does have a heart of gold and loves people! He can live with kids of all ages. He also can live with other dogs! No apartment living for him, you would probably get an eviction notice for a noise violation. He can’t help it though, it’s the song of his people.

Happy adoption sweet girl!

"It's been three weeks now since we brought L.G.(now Lila) home, and today we officially signed the adoption papers! She is the sweetest girl, who literally just wants to be with us at all times. She loves to play outside and gets the zoomies everynight like clockwork before bed. She's doing pretty good with the bathroom and is still a little unsure about going through doorways, but continues to improve everyday. She loves to go on walks and does good on her leash. We just love her already, and want to thank you for all you do for all the animals that come through your facility! 🤍🐶"
