Monica's Heart Greyhound Adoption

Monica's Heart Greyhound Adoption PLEASE READ "ADDITIONAL INFORMATION " As many of you know by now, Monica’s Heart will cease adoptions at the end of 2020. Thanks retired racers and brood mamas.

Since our inception in 1996, we have placed over with 1,700 retired racers. It has been a wonderful 24 years working with you and with these beautiful, elegant creatures. We will still take in dogs that need to be returned, and will be on hand if you have questions or concerns. We have found homes for almost 1,700 dogs, and most foster folks will agree that we have fallen in love with your furkids

before introducing them to you. There has been success and heartache, laughter and tears, hours and hours of work – meeting haulers in the middle of the night, and then bathing them before bringing them home, taking them to the vet for various services, changing bandages and giving meds, and meeting to move dogs on to other foster homes. There has also been tears over “letting them go” when we would have liked to keep another dog, but adopting them out when “the right home” came along. We will be working with our board and will consult an attorney about dissolving the organization. Therefore, we are no longer soliciting donations after our current raffle. The last newsletter will be issued in December, therefore there will be no dues solicitation. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of the Monica’s Heart organization – board members, foster people, volunteers, meet and greet organizers, fundraisers. We are also deeply thankful for the veterinarians that worked with us over the years. We sincerely appreciate all of your efforts on behalf of our successes. I believe that Monica Joyce would be very proud of what we have accomplished in her name., too, to the owners/trainers who have enabled us to find homes for their

Please do not hesitate to contact us, now or in the future, should you have any questions or concerns about your adopted greyhound or in regards to returning one of our adopted dogs that you can no longer care for. We will be on hand for as long as is needed for all of our adopted dogs. Altoona area: Kay: 814-942-3145

This is Pippen, he was last seen in Greenville, Alabama by the Hampton Inn on Saturday 2/21 around 8pm. He’s wearing the blue harness that’s in the picture. He’s a 3-5 month brindle-colored greyhound. The local police have been notified and did spend some time looking for him. I’ve reached out to shelters in the area/county. Please contact me if you hear anything!

BOTH GREYHOUNDS WERE FOUND AND HOME ACCORDING TO WHAT I SAW...

If you have any friends in Indiana, or know of any greyhound groups there please share. I have no other information, I'm only sharing this.

·
2 GREYHOUNDS LOOSE - Decatur, IN. since THURSDAY 12/18
Adopter (elderly) needs help. Dogs are not together - but sepBOTH GREYHOUND WERE FOUND AND ARE HOME...ACCORDING TO WHAT I READ.

1st greyhound -FEMALE BLACK. Age 8. Was hit by one car. Last seen 700 North, 300 East. Seen by owner but ran off scared into woods.
2nd greyhound - MALE with a limp. Age 8. Last seen 300 East & Piqway Rd.
They have collars on, but no tags, no microchip.
If seen call (260) 301-4078.
Both greyhounds have separated, both in great danger. So signs have been put up yet (that would be suggested). There are residential areas, but mostly woods, cornfields, & ponds. Dogs are scared and running in survival mode. Will not come if called, squawkers at this point will scare the dog off. We need sightings so that (hopefully) the adopter can hired a professional trapper.
