Meet beautiful Celeste! This sweetheart is 9 weeks old and ready to find her forever home! She is super playful and would love to have a feline friend in her new home. Celeste is a curious kitty and has fun exploring every corner of the room before it's time for a nap. She comes with her age appropriate vaccinations and a certificate for a free spay when she's old enough.

There are good days in rescue, and then there are GREAT days! Today was a great day when a wonderful couple not only opened their hearts & home to one shelter dog, but to TWO!! Rocky from Alpena County Sheriff's Office Animal Control and our one and only derpy dog Roo are going to be best buds and have gone to their forever home!! We couldn't be happier!!!!🥰🥰🥰

When you're a shelter volunteer - animals seem to find you! One of our team was on the way to our shelter this morning on Washington near Lasting Expressions and saw this big boy running and almost getting hit! So of course she tracked him down and got him in her car - he will be picked up by Alpena County Sheriff's Office Animal Control so if this is your intact boy, (or you know who's dog this is) please contact AC.

🍉🍉Summertime is watermelon time and we've got everything you need to beat the heat in today's auction! You can pick up a few of our favorite summertime treats (or any other snacks) with a $25 Meijer gift card, then dice it up to serve on a melon cutting board and fun serving bowl, add in a beach towel and freeze pop containers plus a fun toy for fido! You can make some cool beverages with this Tupperware iced coffee set and then enjoy them out of one of our limited edition logo mason jar mugs. Some cool cash might be on the way with a pair of scratch lotto tickets. Don't miss out have the highest bid at 7pm tonight (Saturday, July 12) and WIN! Do you want to clean out your closet AND help the animals? Reach out to The Hollyhock Emporium and take a scenic drive out to Harrisville with your new/almost new/gently used in season clothing and donate them to the SCAS consignment account ( #29). In just two months we have raised over $160 to help the animals in our care!! A few of our volunteers recently took a drive out and not only dropped off a few items, but found a few great deals to add to our closets!

Spruce says "every day should be kitten day!" He would love for you to stop in this Saturday from 11-4 and see him (and his siblings!). Special Summer Adoption fees of only $75 for one kitten/$100 for a pair - kittens come up to date on age appropriate vaccinations; dewormed; flea preventative; litterbox trained AND a certificate for a FREE spay/neuter when they are old enough! Small things add up! THANK YOU to everyone who drops off their returnable cans/bottles at the shelter - the great folks at Alpena Beverage stopped by to pick up a record 80 bags of cans this morning! WOW! Funds raised through our can/bottle drive go to help the animals in our care - so if you don't want to take your empties back, drop them off 24/7 in the brown bins at the end of our building!

Roo finds our monthly board meetings less than exciting and decided a nap on the bench was in order. This boy is the SWEETEST fella and we just know his people are out there. 🐾💙
