Dr. Jill Preston graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary medicine in 2005. She specializes in small animal medicine and surgery. She resides outside of Alpena with her husband, two young children, and several four-legged family members.

👻Happy Halloween from all of us at Sunrise Veterinary Services! 🐾

Halloween is full of tricks, treats, and spooky fun, but don't forget about keeping your four-legged family members safe during all the excitement! Here are a few things to keep an eye out for during your Halloween celebrations! 🕸️

🍫 Keep the candy out of reach! Chocolate and candies containing xylitol (sometimes labeled as birch sugar) can be extremely dangerous for pets. Make sure those trick-or-treat bags are stored somewhere curious noses can't reach!

🎃 Be mindful of decorations! Glow sticks, electrical cords, fake spiderwebs, and small decorations can pose hazards to curious pets. Keep lit candles and jack-o'-lanterns out of reach of wagging tails!

🐕 Costumes aren't for everyone! While we love a cute pet costume, make sure your furry friend is comfortable and can move, breathe, and see freely. If they're stressed or uncomfortable, it's perfectly okay to skip the costume!

🔊 Keep the spooky stuff fun, not scary! Doorbells, unfamiliar visitors, flashing lights, and loud noises can be overwhelming for some pets. Give them a safe, quiet place to relax away from the festivities.

🎉 That’s a wrap on Tech & Staff Appreciation Week at Sunrise! 🐾💕

We ended our week with a few more surprises for our amazing team! Each staff member received a little goodie bag filled with some fun treats and reminders of just how appreciated they are! We also handed out prizes for our Tech Week scavenger hunt and wrapped up the day with a delicious dinner from KC Sizzle And Smoke

This week has been filled with so much laughter, great food, fun activities, and well-deserved appreciation. We are so thankful for our incredible team and all the hard work, compassion, and dedication they bring to Sunrise every single day.

A huge thank you to our doctors and management for putting together such a fun-filled week and making everyone feel so special! 💗

Day 4 of Tech & Staff Appreciation Week at Sunrise! 🐾💕
Today was all about celebrating our amazing team and enjoying a little extra relaxation!
Our doctors took the time to create personalized appreciation posters for each staff member, highlighting what makes everyone so special! These are proudly displayed in our lobby for everyone to read and enjoy. ❤️
Our break room also got a much-needed snack restock, filled with all kinds of goodies to keep our team fueled throughout the day! 🍫🍿
While some of our staff finished up their relaxing massages, we added another little spa experience with paraffin wax hand treatments! And because we couldn't end the day without a little fun, we wrapped things up with a temporary tattoo bar! 🎨
It's been such a fun week of celebrating the people who make Sunrise what it is. We are so thankful for our doctors and managers who have put so much thought and effort into making each day special for our team! 🐶🐱

Day 3 of Tech/Staff Appreciation Week! 🐢💙

Today our amazing managers treated the Sunrise crew to a delicious homemade lunch! On the menu were sloppy joes, potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, cowboy beans, and banana cake! A huge thank you to our managers for putting together such a wonderful meal for everyone! 🍽️

Of course, our staff is still enjoying their freshly made slushies every day this week! 🥤

We also had a VERY special visitor today! 🐢 One of our Sunrise clients brought in their friendly 6-year-old tortoise for a quick weigh-in on our big dog scale! This handsome guy tipped the scales at a whopping 31 POUNDS! Safe to say he stole the show and made quite a few new friends during his visit!

Three days down, and we’re still having so much fun celebrating the incredible people who make Sunrise what it is! Stay tuned to see what else we have planned this week! 💙🐾

🎪 Day TWO of Tech & Staff Appreciation Week at Sunrise! 🎉💕

Today was all about treating our amazing team to a little relaxation and some well-deserved pampering!

🥣 We kicked off the morning with some AMAZING breakfast bowls from Olde Mill Coffee to fuel everyone for the day!

💊 Next up, everyone received their very own prescription-strength “Chill Pills” because sometimes a little extra sweetness is just what the doctor ordered! 😉

💆‍♀️ And what better way to unwind than with relaxing massages for the entire staff?! A little break from the hustle and bustle of clinic life was just what we needed!

Our team works incredibly hard every single day caring for your furry family members, and we love getting the chance to show them just how appreciated they are! ❤️

Two days down, and there’s still plenty more fun to come! Stay tuned to see what else we have planned for our Sunrise crew! 🐾🎉
