Bees hate it when it’s about to rain and get super aggressive…got stung 5 times in 3 minutes getting this queen today, but have to runs to the airport so couldn’t wait any longer.

Another marked queen out for delivery! Almost out of queens for the year. Working on combining hives and building up stores for the remainder of the year before rain starts in earnest.

Honey spinning is officially done for the season. Bonus this week, somebody needed to get rid of a full hive, so I traded a couple bottles of home for the bees.. did not exactly go to plan and had to drive an hour home with my bee jacket on as I had a couple dozen bees in the cab with me. Only a half dozen stings, though..

Second place for our honey entry and honorable mention on the tallest sunflower. Had several other entries that I ended up not submitting due to being out of town for work, but happy with the farms results this year.

Skunk tried to help out in the orchard by clearing out this yellow jacket nest. Hopefully it comes back tonight to finish the job.

First batch of raw, unfiltered honey is now available. All from my farm in East Albany and harvested in July 2025.

Not pasteurized, so pollen and enzymes are not affected.

$25 for a quart/2 pounds, 11oz
$15 for a pint/1 pound, 4 oz
$9 for a had pint/ 10 oz

It’s the time of year for sticky door handles and light switches, as honey harvest commenced. Spring honey pulled and spun out today..about 7 gallons.

Another 3 week and will do the July pull, which will be the last of the year. After that, there is little nectar and it’s every bee for themselves and no more honey for the year.

Have to strain wax a few times before bottling, but should have the first of the jars ready for sale in about a week!
