Pound Pooch Whangarei Our shelter rehomes dogs that are now in the care of Whangarei District Council. Whangarei Animal Management is open Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm.

The shelter is located between John Deer tractors and alternatives, approx. 300 meters from Whangarei SPCA. Before you adopt your fur friend;

Do you have old blankets that our Pound Pooch pups could use this winter? 🐕🐕
It's getting cold and we have used up what we can get from second-hand stores, so the Pound Pooch team are now reaching out for donations of unwanted bedding.

✅ Duvet covers (without inners), sheets, towels and blankets are all great and welcome.
❌ Please don't offer loose-knit woollens, feathers/fluffy duvet inserts, pillows or sleeping bags, as they can be dangerous for dogs.

The Pound Pooch team says "Items that are ripped, stained or simply not your colour would be perfect!
