HEADS UP FOR CATTERY CLOSURE DATES FOR 2026.
The cattery will close at 11am on Thursday 30th April and will re-open again at 9am on Monday 15th June. I can take no bookings during this time, nor any bookings which may cross over into these dates.

Apparently Lily has a fixation with dead flax leaves. The owners tell me, when they wake up in the morning, the house is full of old flax leaves that Lily has collected during the night and brought inside. 😂😍 Perhaps she could help me do a cleanup in my garden.

Naughty Charlie enjoying the sun and sleeping off his full stomach I imagine. I can't have snibbed his door properly last night. Opened up this morning to find Charlie wandering around the wing, lid off the biscuit jar and biscuits all over the kitchen bench. His Mum won't be happy with me. He's on a diet! 🙄 Not having a good week with clever cats out-smarting me.

How to out-smart a clever feline. Rusty is the first cat I've known in my thirteen years here that can open one of these doors to the outside area. He sits up on the shelf, reaches out and wacks the handle down with his paw until it disengages, then pushes the door open. As the heating is on during these cold nights, Stephen came up with a quick overnight fix, much to Rusty's disappointment. 😍

About Ashley Boarding Cattery

Ashley Boarding Cattery is a first class boarding facility located in Rangiora, North Canterbury. Established nearly twenty years ago, the cattery is now set in peaceful garden surroundings, with units that are large and comfortable, providing everything your cat needs for a happy and contented stay with us. We consider cat welfare to be paramount so our clients can be confident their cat will receive the very best of care from our fully qualified and professional staff. We come highly recommended by Vets and cat welfare groups, and are well supported by local and repeat clientele. Our cattery prides itself on excellent customer service and as such, offers a free local pickup and delivery service. We are proud to be a member of the Pet Industry Association of Australia, and our facility was also AsureQaulity approved, prior to AsureQaulity discontinuing their Pet Boarding program in 2018. New clients are welcome to come and view the cattery at any time during opening hours or by prior arrangement. We can also collect or deliver your cat to Christchurch Airport if required. Our boarding cattery has a clean & modern quarantine area, away from the main cattery, for cats that are not vaccinated. Please talk to us about your requirements.
