We are a greyhound rehoming kennel for retired racers. We prepare these beautiful greys for the agencies to take for adoption.

We work in with 4 rehoming agencies, Greyhounds as pets, KiwiKiwi hounds, May hounds and Nightrave greyhounds.

We’ve been a little quiet on here lately, but busy behind the scenes in the last month.

💚 Warm welcomes
We’re excited to have some new faces join us - Martha, Brandy, Buster, Berry, Shady, Razor, Rhino and Mike 🫶🏼 Each of them has already brought so much personality and love into the kennels 😍

💕🇺🇸 We also said goodbye to four beautiful hounds - Moonie, Iris, Edmund and Quinn - as they set off on their USA adventure - First stop the Levin kennel base. It was bittersweet, but we know they are headed towards amazing homes with wonderful teams supporting them every step of the way🫶🏼🫶🏼

🐾👫Friendly visits
We had the sweetest visit from Rangiora hound Otis 🥰 and also got to spend time with Shadow and Lexi from Mayhounds South Island (also Rangiora hounds) when they collected a foster dog. Always so special seeing familiar faces.

✨Last weekend Sandy and Lisa attended an event alongside KiwiKiwi Hounds Adoption , and this weekend brought something extra special - Lisa has officially found her forever family! Happy tigerrrrrrr 💕 with sandy girl lined up for a potential match 🤩 thank you Kiwikiwi Hounds Group.

💜 We also watched a very special hound, Izzy, head into a very special home where we all share a deep connection 🥰 thank you May Hounds Charitable Trust - Greyhound Rehoming Group.

Beautiful ted 🧸🥹 had short stay with us before he headed off to foster care with the lovely ladies and lad of KiwiKiwi Hounds Adoption 💖 Ted is perky and a large heart that has ALOT of love to give 🖤 His smiles are contagious and he has the sweetest little prance....and to fall in love with him is so god damn easy he is a "Mr perfect' to us.
Miss you already love bug - we hope your enjoying your foster sibling Harry 🥹 Give him a smooch.

💔 We had to say goodbye to Jet.
Sunday 31st of August our heart dog crossed over.

Jet came into our rehoming kennels full of love, charm, and gentleness. In such a short time he became our special boy.

Last week, Jet was diagnosed with an aggressive form of osteosarcoma. Despite every effort to keep him comfortable, the cancer progressed quickly, and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully after a morning of letting us know he is tired.

This is the sad reality of our work sometimes. Our days are filled with joy, new beginnings, and seeing greyhounds thrive in their new lives - but there are also very few moments like this. The hard decisions, the grief, and the quiet ache of losing one who deserved so much more time. It never gets easier.

We’re incredibly grateful to Greyhound Racing New Zealand/ Hannah for their support during this difficult time and the rehoming group KiwiKiwi Hounds Adoption Karen Wicks ensuring Jet’s final days were filled with love, dignity, and care ❤️‍🩹

Run free now, Jet. Always part of us our sunshine boy/heart dog ☀️🌈 our hearts are still hurting 💔 but we know you're at peace and out of pain.

✨Olive 🫒 Our Brave, Beautiful Girl ✨
Some dogs just capture hearts the moment they arrive - and Olive is one of those very special souls. 💖

When she first came to us, she had a small issue with her leg. But after further checks, it turned out she needed a bigger change than anyone expected - her back leg was removed. What could have been a setback became the start of something incredible for Olive.

Thanks to the incredible support of Shirley Vet Clinic , Animal Orthopedics CHCH, Rangiora Vet Centre - Pets and the amazing guidance from Rehab to Rehome - Canterbury Olive was given every chance to adapt to her new lifestyle. She has also been surrounded by so much love from the greyhound community - Lisa and Shirley from Greyhounds As Pets NZ , Karen, Jo and Kevin from KiwiKiwi Hounds Adoption , Steve from Tevra Dog Training 2022 - true gems who all wrapped Olive in kindness. And none of this would have been possible without the backing of Greyhound Racing New Zealand, who funded all of Olive’s surgery and medical care and gave continous support to my team. 💕

And how has Olive taken this huge change? Like the absolute superstar she is! 🌟 Her back leg never slowed her down - well if anything, it held her back. Now she’s faster than ever, zooming around with her trademark spins (a solid 10/10!), tail wagging, and a smile that never leaves her face. Nothing stops Olive, and nothing ever will.

She is unbelievably affectionate, adores people, and has a way of making every person she meets feel special.

Olive is now heading into foster care with May Hounds Charitable Trust - Greyhound Rehoming Group, where she’ll no doubt keep charming everyone she meets. We are going to miss her so much, but we’re so proud of her journey and so grateful for the incredible community that came together to give her this new lease on life. ❤️

Run happy, sweet Olive. You are so gonna run the show - you are truly one of a kind. 🥇
