We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our dear friend and supporter Margaret Fogarty, who was former chairperson of our New York Branch

Margaret dedicated her life to volunteering with many charities and organisations, and we were honoured to have had her support over so many years.

Margaret was laid to rest in New York holding an Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind stuffed toy dog.

Our sincerest condolences to her friends and family on both sides of the Atlantic.

Some of our amazing trainers and Dogs in Training paid a visit to Everyman recently to expose the dogs to the environment of a theatre as part of their training.

Our team of trainers and their dogs included Yoshi with Remy, Sam with Rudy, Ali and Clíodhna with Ulysses, joined a lovely tour group from the USA and were warmly welcomed by staff member Maev O’Shea.

Thank you again for the opportunity to allow our dogs experience this environment - hopefully one day soon they will visit with their Guide Dog or Assistance Dog owner!

A huge thank you to the volunteers of Vertexinc for all of their help and support at our Training Centre in Cork recently!

Along with their hard work helping out with maintenance, the Vertexinc volunteers also helped start a project in our garden which needs renovating, while also making a donation towards the costs of the work being done!

We can’t thank you enough and appreciate your support immensely!

We were delighted to welcome a class of students from Japan to our Training Centre recently!

The students are from the KSU school in Kyoto in Japan, and are currently at Griffith Institute of Language, Cork. As part of their course, they are visiting different businesses and charities here in Cork to see how they operate!

They are pictured with Tour Guide, Joe, and trainers Yoshi & Sachiko with Dogs in Training Remy and Winifred

Thank you for the visit, we hope you enjoyed your day!
