🐾 Foster a Puppy. Change a Life. 🐾

Have you ever thought about volunteering in a way that truly makes a difference?

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary here at Irish Guide Dogs, we’re looking for Puppy Raisers to welcome a future Guide, Assistance, or Community Dog into their home and help them through their early training journey. πŸ’š

As a Puppy Raiser, you’ll care for a puppy from around 9 weeks to 14 months old β€” helping them learn basic obedience, social skills, and confidence, all the while knowing they could one day bring independence and life-changing support to someone who is blind, vision impaired, or a family of a child with autism.

You won’t be doing it alone:

βœ… Full training and ongoing guidance
βœ… Food, veterinary care & essential equipment provided
βœ… 24/7 support from our puppy raising team
βœ… A welcoming community of fellow volunteers in your area

No dog training experience needed β€” just time, commitment, and plenty of love!

It starts with one small act of kindness… and one puppy!

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, we will be holding a vibrant public art event in Cork this August in partnership with MTU.

The project, A City of Tails, will feature 50 life-size dog sculptures, each uniquely designed and painted by local schools, businesses, community groups and professional artists. These sculptures will be displayed across Cork City as a celebration of creativity, community and support for our work.

We are excited to invite our clients and volunteers to take part in decorating one of the sculptures.

No artistic experience is needed β€” just enthusiasm and a willingness to have fun! All materials will be provided.

Date: Saturday, 6 June
Times:
10:00 am –12:30 pm
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Location: MTU Campus, 46 Grand Parade, Cork

Booking is essential and is on a first come, first served basis.

Light refreshments will be available.

Assistance Dog clients can bring their child if they wish. Approximately 15 people can fit in the studio at one time.

If you would like to get involved, contact Iona Garcia at [email protected] or 0818 506 300.

Help is make this sculpture truly special.
